Most of us have probably fallen in love with a celebrity after watching them on a show or movie. Their charm and performances are so real, we feel they are our best friends, our family, or our prince charming coming to the rescue. But some of them are real superheroes, even when they are off-screen. Their good deeds inspire their fans and followers to be their best selves.

1. Angelina Jolie

It was a cold December night when a group of fans that had been waiting for Angelina Jolie got out of control the moment she made her appearance. Unfortunately, one woman named Techna got squished in the chaos and started having a panic attack. Jolie immediately approached her and stayed with her until she was sure Techna was alright. She truly knows how to captivate our hearts!

2. Shaquille O’Neal

A romantic at heart, Shaquille O’Neal recently bought an engagement ring, not for his significant other, but for a complete stranger. During the NBA aftershow on TNT, the former Laker explained that he was in a jewelry store when he saw a man buying an engagement ring. O’Neal was so taken by the man’s demeanor that he decided to buy the ring himself. He also mentioned, “Whenever I leave the house, I just try to do a good deed.”

3. Oprah Winfrey

The talk show diva is well-known for her spontaneous acts of kindness toward complete strangers. But perhaps one of the most unusual ones is when she donated a dress. She simply gave a dress to one of her Twitter followers who asked for it. That’s a nice and unexpected way to brighten someone’s day.

4. Matthew McConaughey

Walking back home late at night can be dangerous, especially if you’re a woman. That’s why the University of Texas implemented the SURE Walk program, and one of the volunteers who drove students safely to their homes was none other than A-list star, Matthew McConaughey. We’d surely want a ride just to listen to on-set anecdotes from this Southern charmer.

5. Harry and Meghan

Having to fill Diana’s shoes might be a difficult endeavor but not for the Duke of Sussex and his wife. They are well-known for always going the extra mile in order to brighten someone’s day. Recently, the lucky ones were a young couple who were doing a New Year’s Day picnic. They were struggling to take a selfie when Harry and Meghan stepped in and took their picture. That’s a moment they’ll treasure for a lifetime.

6. Harrison Ford

The Indiana Jones actor is not only a hero on set but also in real life. He took part in helping the millions of people affected by an earthquake in Haiti, he also rescued a woman and a boy on separate occasions. He’s so proactive that, one time, when he was stuck in traffic, he didn’t sit back and wait but immediately jumped into action and started directing cars. Luckily for us, it was caught on video.

7. Taylor Swift

We all dream of being friends with a celebrity and getting invited to their home. For a group of fans of Taylor Swift, this dream actually came true, or at least part of it. The singer welcomed them into her mansion, treated them with some home-baked cookies, let them pet her cats, and shared her album with them before it was released.

8. Christian Bale

We are well aware of how committed this actor is to his roles, having dropped 60 pounds to play the character Reznik in The Machinist. But what many of us may not know is that he’s also devoted to helping others and tries to keep it low-key. When Bale found out that a young boy battling cancer wanted to meet Batman, Bale flew him and his family to LA. He even paid for their hotel and took them to Disney. It must have been a magical day.

9. Jennifer Lawrence

Apparently, she’s also a heroine off-screen. The Hunger Games star was walking her dog when she saw a woman collapse on the ground. Her good Samaritan instincts kicked in and she rushed to help her. Lawrence calmly assisted the ailing woman and stayed with her until the paramedics arrived.

10. Ryan Gosling

Pedestrians in New York can surely be safe if the actor is around because he seems to be a man of action. Upon seeing a woman who was about to walk into an upcoming taxi, the actor sprung into action and saved her. The woman was so surprised by the identity of her savior that she later tweeted, “I literally, LITERALLY just got saved from a car by Ryan Gosling.” “Literally. That actually just happened.”

11. Robert Downey Jr.

In 2019, Aaron Hunter, a young Marvel fan who was diagnosed with a rare illness called ROHHAD (Rapid Onset Obesity, with Hypothalamic Dysfunction, Hypoventilation, and Autonomic Dysregulation) reached out to Robert Downey Jr. to ask him for help in raising funds for research. The Iron Man actor responded to his request.

Downey then helped raise funds and spread awareness by posting a video of him jumping into muddy puddles on his Facebook. “All Avengers and Iron Man fans alike, I hearby challenge thee, go mad, jump for ROHHAD,” said Downey in the video.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, despite their preference for privacy, have raised children who are making their own mark. Maddox, the eldest, studies in South Korea, while Pax has a budding interest in photography. Zahara aspires to be a supermodel, Shiloh is an LGBTQ+ idol, and twins Knox and Vivienne have ventured into acting.
