14 Times Movie Creators Didn’t Bother and Used the Same Costumes in Different Films

“Why spend money on new things when we can use the old ones?” was probably the mindset of movie makers when they decided to use costumes that had already been used in previous movies. Most films and TV series just don’t have enough money to dress the entire cast in entirely new costumes. And if a dress was especially good (like it was in Titanic) why not take the chance and use it again?

Bright Side has chosen several examples of when characters from different movies wore the exact same clothes. Only the most attentive viewers would have noticed them. Maybe you’re one of them?

1. Pride & Prejudice, 2005 — Sense and Sensibility, 2008

2. Elizabeth, 1998 — Camelot, 2011

3. Gossip Girl, 2010 — The Carrie Diaries, 2013

4. Dangerous Liaisons, 1988 — Hocus Pocus, 1993

5. Head in the Clouds, 2004 — Race, 2016

6. My Cousin Rachel, 2017 — Victoria, 2017

7. Manolete, 2008 — Brooklyn, 2015

8. Isabel, 2014 — The Hollow Crown, 2016

9. The Duchess, 2008 — The Scandalous Lady W, 2015

10. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, 2016 — Mary Shelley, 2018

11. Mad Men, 2009 — The Help, 2011

12. Snow White and the Huntsman, 2012 — Once Upon a Time, 2017

13. Friends, 1994 — Edgar Allan Poe’s Murder Mystery Dinner Party, 2016

14. Titanic, 1997 — Tuck Everlasting, 2002

Do you think it’s okay to use the same costumes twice in different movies?
