We have something in common with A-list actors, singers, and famous stars — we were all brought into this world by our mother. We might show our love for them in different ways. Some celebrities and their mothers are best friends and they’ve chosen to open the curtains and tell us all about it.

Out of love for mothers all around the globe, all of us at Bright Side wanted to share the next short stories that some of our favorite celebs publicly shared about their special mothers.

1. Rami Malek & Nelly Malek

When Rami Malek won the Oscar for Best Actor for his role in Bohemian Rhapsody, the first person he thanked was his mother. “Oh, I can’t... my Mom is in here somewhere. Oh, I, oh, I love you! I love you, lady!” It’s no wonder that the majority of the actors’ thank-you speeches start with, “I’d like to thank my Mom...” — watch this, it’s a powerful collection of thank-yous and we’re not going to lie, we cried.

2. Chris Pratt & Kathy Pratt

Chris Pratt dedicated a whole Instagram post to his mother: “Happy Mother’s Day to my mom Kathy. Thank you for your joy, your earnest dreaming, your lack of cynicism, and your passion for all things fun and games. All 3 of us kids are so grateful to have had you as a mom growing up. You gave us your every moment. And regardless of our struggles, we laughed every single day. Thank you. I love you.”

3. Reese Witherspoon & Betty Reese

On Mother’s Day, Reese posted this lovely picture of her and her mother along with the following description. “The best part of my day is when I talk to my mom. Her wisdom, her smile, her gracious laughing at my dumb jokes. Every day is better when I see her face. I can’t wait to hug her again! It’s one thing I miss the most. For those of you who can, hug your Mom today!”

4. Timothée Chalamet & Nicole Flender

Did you know that Timothée, the 25-year-old actor, has won 40 awards and had 87 nominations? In one of his energetic acceptance speeches, he made sure to thank his Mom in a very special way — “She’s the reason I’m alive, she’s the reason I have an acting career. Mom, I love you!”

5. Justin Timberlake & Lynn Bomar Harless

Justin Timberlake calls his mother a Super Hero Mother — and he’s right, all our mothers have supernatural powers. “I’m so lucky to have you as a guiding force for this crazy ride! You have taught me so much and I will always cherish every lesson. Also, you still make the best cinnamon-sugar toast on the planet. I love you, Mom.”

6. Ryan Reynolds & Tammy Reynolds

Ryan Reynolds has a special relationship with his mother, he even brings her along to red carpet events. “I love my Mom. I love her willingness to try anything. About 4 months ago she took off on this motorcycle with one of my dear friends from high school.”

7. Jared Leto and Constance Leto

Jared Leto can contain his love for his mother in one powerful sentence: “Thank you for teaching me to dream.”

8. Dwayne Johnson & Ata Johnson

This sweet post broke the internet in 2015 and it shows the sacrifices mothers make for their children. Dwayne said, "I’m sittin’ across from my Mom when out of the blue she looks at me and says, “Son, I can’t believe the life I have... grandma and grandpa would be so proud.” I asked her, “Are you happy, ma?” “Am I happy?... I used to worry about how I was going to buy groceries for us and now I just had my breakfast placed down in front of me.”

She bursts into tears and says, “Yes, son I couldn’t be happier.” And y’all know when our parents tell us they’re happy, it’s so satisfying for us, ’cause it means we’ve done a good job for them as their kids."

9. Jennifer Garner & Patricia Ann Garner

There’s nothing like a mother’s hug, and this picture tells a million stories. Jennifer professed her love for her mother in her own words. “Happy Birthday to my wonderful, loving, adventurous mother, Patricia English Garner. I only hope to be as brave as you are, Mom, and can only try to be half the mother you have been to Melissa, Susannah, and me. We love you and cannot wait to be together again.”

10. Henry Cavill & Marianne Cavill

Henry Cavill or Clark Kent, as most of us know him, shared a heartwarming post about his mother on International Women’s Day. “I’m dedicating this post to the most magnificent woman I know. My mom. An extraordinary, powerful, tough, intelligent, resilient, kind, thoughtful, and caring person. That little boy on her lap learned an awful lot about what it is to be a good man from her.”

11. Jessica Simpson & Tina Ann Drew

Jessica Simpson showed us that no matter how many words we use, we can’t ever fully show our mothers how important they are to us. "Mommy. You are my very first love. You were the first to pray for me, wrap your arms around me, nourish me, hold my fears, calm my pain, create space for my purpose in this world, allow me to understand my true worth, create with me.

You were the first to pray with me, encourage my dreams, fight for my happiness, provide strength within me to discover the determination to never ever give up on myself. I love you the exact same way you love me because you have taught me all the beautiful colors of the emotion behind the word LOVE."

12. Jessica Biel & Kimberly Biel

Jessica posted this picture of herself and her mother with the caption, “Celebrating my beautiful Mom... who has taught her kids and grandkids to support, love, and respect everyone, especially women.”

13. Jessica Alba & Catherine Jensen

There’s nothing closer to our hearts than our mothers — whenever we have a picture taken together with our moms, we can’t help but notice how much alike we are — be it the same smile, facial features, or spark in our eyes. Jessica Alba and Catherine Jensen radiate positive energy in this picture. “I love you so much! You always keep it real and hold it down!”

14. Halle Berry & Judith Ann Hawkins

We will never forget the powerful speech Halle Berry made when accepting her first Oscar award, for the movie Monster’s Ball in 2002. “I want to thank my mom, who’s given me the strength to fight every single day to be who I wanna be and the courage to dream that this dream might be happening and possible for me. I love you mom, so much.”

15. Keanu Reeves & Patricia Taylor

Keanu Reeves — we can’t tell you how much we all love this guy. During one of his acceptance award speeches, he got emotional and said, “I want to thank my Mom — who, when I said to her when I was 15, ’Is it okay if I’m an actor?’ she said ’Do whatever you wanna do, darling!’”

Mothers, wherever you are, know that we appreciate and acknowledge every sleepless night, every dime you spent on us instead of on yourself, every single thing you have sacrificed in order for us to have a good life. Whether we are too selfish with our words or we just don’t know the right way to say it, we love you forever and ever.

What are your special ways of showing your mother how much she means to you? If you could tell her anything right now, what would it be?
