9 Celebrities Who Can Win the “Cool Grandparents” Award at School

It may be hard for you to imagine some of our favorite celebrities as caring and loving grandparents. We see them so frequently on-screen and more that we miss some aspects of their private lives. In fact, sometimes, they are just as cool with the role of grandma or grandpa as they are with the characters they depict in front of cameras.

1. Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn

Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn have been together for a long 39 years, since 1983. They share 7 grandchildren and are cool grandparents to all of them. Recently, they celebrated the birthday of their granddaughter, Rani Rose, all dressed up as princes and princesses.

2. Susan Sarandon

Susan Sarandon has 3 children and 3 lovely grandchildren. However, she does not like her grandchildren to call her “Grandma,” not even “Granny.” She picked a sweet (quite literally) nickname — her grandchildren call her “Honey.”

3. Ozzy Osbourne

Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne have been exposing their lives since starring in the MTV reality show, The Osbournes. However, since the show ended, they’ve become grandparents 3 times. Ozzy, led by his wish to spend more time with his grandchildren, even announced his No More Tours 2 to be his last tour.

“We’ve been touring for 50 years. I’ve never seen my kids grow up — I’ve never been around — and now I have grandchildren, and I want to spend some time with them,” Osbourne said.

4. Snoop Dogg

At the age of 51 years, Snoop Dogg has 6 grandchildren. For the first time, he became a grandpa to a boy in 2015, and now he has 5 more grandchildren. He enjoys spending time with his grandchildren, often posting pictures of them on social media.

5. Kris Jenner

All of Kris Jenner’s 12 grandchildren have a cute nickname for her as well. The head of the Jenner-Kardashian family and awesome grandmother is simply “Lovey” to the little members of the family.

“At first, I was Grandma, and all of a sudden, I didn’t like the way that sounded; my mom had a friend called Lovey, and I thought that was the cutest name,” Jenner shared.

6. Pierce Brosnan

Pierce Brosnan, a.k.a. ex-James Bond, is now a very gentle grandparent to his grandchildren, Isabella and Lucas, and the youngest one, Marley May. “She just melts my heart,” said Brosnan speaking about Marley May. “It is such a joy to be a grandparent. There’s something special about it.”

7. Michael Douglas

Last year, Michael Douglas met his second grandchild, a baby boy, Ryder. When he met his grandson for the first time, Douglas posted a lovely picture feeding Ryder from the bottle. He is very close with Ryder’s eldest sister, Lua, as well.

8. Steven Tyler

Steven Tyler, the rockstar and frontman of Aerosmith, is also a grandfather of 4. “Papa Stevie,” as he refers to himself, turns out to be a super cool grandpa.

“We don’t always see him that often, but when we do, it’s like this magical wizard comes to the house,” shares Liv Tyler, the singer’s daughter.
