Barbie’s Dreamhouse Is Once Again Available for Rent but for Just Two Nights

For many decades now, Barbie’s dreamhouse has been a staple in little kids’ rooms, who have been fantasizing about being able to live in such a home. Well, now everyone has the opportunity to do that, since a mansion in Malibu was given a very pink transformation. The already-existing house was turned from just a normal mansion to Barbie and Ken’s signature pink building. Greta Gerwig, the movie’s director, wanted to make sure that there would be no CGI used for the sets, but that everything would be hand painted. In an interview, she joked that “the world run out of pink”, since the production used gallons upon gallons of pink paint to transform the set into a bright heaven. Even the owner of the company that provided the movie production with the paint confirmed that they indeed cleaned them out of pink paint.

For the movie, the production created a 3-story house, where everything was painted in different shades of pink. Gerwig wanted even the smallest of toys and props to be real and to be able to touch them. “I wanted the pinks to be very bright, and everything to be almost too much.” And even though the images look extremely saturated, the director thinks that the whole aesthetic is artificially authentic.

Now an actual dreamhouse exists in Malibu.

This mansion is located in Malibu, having wonderful ocean views and will be available to book for 1-night stays only and for up to two people per stay. The house used to be available for rent back in 2019, but it looked completely different back then. Thanks to the release of the movie Barbie, the owners decided to give it a glow up and turn it into the real dreamhouse.

And thanks to Airbnb, everyone has the opportunity to apply to rent it for a night but after the 17th of July, when bookings will open. The property will be available free of charge for just two reservations, with each being for 1 night and for 2 people only.

Ken is listed as the property’s host and everything inside the mansion has been built and decorated based on what he likes. So, there is a dance floor, an outdoor gym, rollerblades and of course a surf board in case you want to leave the house for a bit and visit the ocean.

Inside the mansion, you will find both Barbie’s and Ken’s wardrobes, and you will be impressed with their impeccable styles. For the evening, you can just chill by the infinity pool or float on the pool balloons with Ken’s name on them.

The mansion is located right above the ocean with the views being absolutely breathtaking. Inside one of the rooms, you will also find a life-size horse, since Ken likes anything equestrian-related. So, you can wear his cowboy hat and his boots and jump on the horse for the perfect Instagram photo. At the end of your stay you can even take your very own set of yellow-and-pink Impala skates and surfboards.

When the platform opens for bookings on the 17th of July, anyone can make their request to book the mansion. You should know that guests are responsible for their own transportation to and from the property in Malibu.
