Courteney Cox Reveals Why She Regrets Her Cosmetic Surgery and Opts for a More Natural Approach to Beauty Now
The smash-hit Friends star, Courteney Cox, has always been beautiful. However, feeling that cosmetic surgery was the only answer to remain relevant in the entertainment business, she ended up undergoing many procedures. And it’s very refreshing when celebs like Cox get candid about their work over the years. Below, we’re spilling everything you need to know about the actress’s experience, regrets, and the decision to finally opt for a natural approach to life.
How it all started

After Courteney Cox starred as the iconic character, Monica Geller, on Friends, she decided to start her journey with plastic surgery. She was the second-oldest cast member when the sitcom was in its first season. The show lasted 10 seasons, at the end of which Cox was 40. By that time, the star wasn’t pleased with the way she looked, and she wanted to keep up with the times in a way that was anything but maintenance, and that’s when she started getting injectable fillers.
How it became a routine
Cox also went into detail regarding how she got caught up in the cycle. “Well, what would end up happening is that you go to a doctor who would say, ’You look great, but what would help is a little injection here or filler there...’ Then somebody tells you about another doctor... The next thing you know, you’re layered and layered and layered,” she explained.
Cox’s regret and the decision to get her procedures reversed
The Friends alumna admitted that she may have gone overboard in her pursuit to keep looking young. She couldn’t see the results while undergoing the procedure, as the changes happened gradually. But she eventually got a wake-up call when she realized her inner circle was talking about how she looked.
However, it wasn’t just her friends’ reactions that caused her to want to have the procedures reversed. Seeing herself in photographs, where she looked even worse, was also a factor. In addition, she revealed that she regrets having had certain cosmetic procedures because they made her look worse, not better.
Today, she is opting for a more natural approach.
“You need movement in your face, especially if you have thin skin like I do. Those aren’t wrinkles, they’re smile lines. I’ve had to learn to embrace movement and realize that fillers are not my friend,” the actress finally admitted. And today, after having dissolved all her fillers, Cox is feeling like her best self and is totally comfortable in her own skin.
The much-loved Friends character will turn 59 in June this year, looking just as glamorous as ever. And she admits that she’s at a stage of her life where she’s the most confident she’s ever been. “I kind of own everything. And the things that I am not as comfortable with myself, they’re things that I continue to work on to grow and change,” she stated.
