About 23 million women suffer a miscarriage per year, and Sharon Stone is one of them. In a recent post, the Hollywood actress has revealed that she went through the devastating loss nine times in her life, and the aftermath of it.

She wishes the issue was more spoken about so that women could get the support they need instead of bearing the pain alone. Bright Side wholeheartedly agrees with her sentiment and would like to share her story with our readers.

She suffered various losses early in her life.

Sharon married Michael Greenburg in 1984, but things didn’t work out, and they separated three years later. She then was briefly engaged twice, but both relationships ended. She married Phil Bronstein in 1998 and the couple tried to have babies together but couldn’t.

Stone suffers from an autoimmune disease and endometriosis. Both conditions prevented her from having a child biologically. In a comment on Instagram, she recently revealed she miscarried nine times.

Adoption came as a blessing for her.

Sharon and Phil adopted their first son in 2000. The couple filed for divorce three years later. She adopted her second son, Laird Vonne, in 2005 and Quinn Kelly Stone, in 2006. The 64-year-old is often seen hanging out with her three sons as a single mom.

She wishes women could speak freely about the struggles they face.

“It is no small thing, physically nor emotionally, yet we are made to feel it is something to bear alone and secretly with some kind of sense of failure. Instead of receiving the much-needed compassion and empathy and healing which we so need,” Sharon said, talking about women who suffered miscarriages.
