Joe Manganiello Gets a Tattoo With a Poignant Meaning After Split From Sofía Vergara

After his recent split from Sofía Vergara, Joe Manganiello seems to be making some significant changes in his life. The 46-year-old has just unveiled a massive tattoo on his arm, and its meaning is touching.

The significance behind this new addition.

During an outing in California, the star debuted his new tattoo, which covers most of his left forearm. The striking new ink, which is bold and black, reads the word ’’Հրեշտակ,’’ which translates to “angel” in the Armenian language.

Earlier this week, Armenian artist Ruben Malayan, the calligrapher behind the artwork, posted about the actor’s newest addition and shared a photo of the True Blood star proudly displaying the tattoo.
The photo also included Joe’s small dog, Bubbles, whom he gained custody of during his ongoing divorce from Sofía Vergara.

A heartfelt homage to his Heritage.

Malayan wrote, “My latest work, so far largest in scale Հրեշտակ (Angel) for @joemanganiello, who I am sure will wear it with pride!” He also added the hashtag #armeniancalligraphy.

Indeed, the tattoo is a special tribute to Manganiello’s Armenian roots. In fact, the star had opened up about his great-grandmother, who was Armenian, during an episode of Finding Your Roots back in February.

Parting ways is never easy.

Even though Joe gets to keep his beloved puppy Bubbles, it was reported that Vergara had filed to keep ’’miscellaneous jewelry, artwork, and other personal effects’’.
She also submitted a request to retain all earnings generated before, during, and following her separation from Manganiello.

We wish both Joe and Sofía all the best in their new lives, and we believe that the tattoo is a refreshing and cool addition to Joe’s already impressive ink collection. If you’d like to see more stories of tattoos with touching meanings behind them, then check out this compilation.
