Lindsay Lohan Reveals the Motherhood Advice She Got From Jamie Lee Curtis

It’s been 20 years since Freaky Friday premiered, but co-stars Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis still keep in touch. Lohan, who is currently pregnant with her first child, has turned to her on-screen mom for advice. In an interview, she shared the key tip Curtis gave her and how she reassured her regarding the challenges of motherhood.

The co-stars first met in 2003.

Ever since Lindsay Lohan returned to acting, in 2021, she’s been doing everything on her own terms. Amongst a series of projects she’s been working on, including Irish Wish, a rom-com set to debut in 2024, the actress has been discussing returning to a sequel of Freaky Friday, along with co-star Jamie Lee Curtis.

As a working mother herself, Jamie Lee Curtis turns out to be the type of person Lohan is currently relying on for advice on motherhood, including how to balance it with her job. “I spoke to Jamie Lee Curtis recently,” she revealed in her latest cover story, “and she was like, ’You just bring the baby with you and everything will be fine.’”

In April 2023, Curtis showed support for Lohan on Instagram by reposting photos, where The Parent Trap-star displayed her baby bump for the first time, and adding a caring caption.

“My friend and film daughter is growing up,” she wrote. “So thrilled for her. What a mama she will be.”

Lohan shared new details about her pregnancy in her cover story.

During her interview, the 36-year-old also spoke about how she found out that she was pregnant and how she told her husband, Bader Shammas, about it. “I think I might be pregnant,” she recalled telling her mom, Dina Lohan, as she was about to return home to Dubai from a press tour in New York.

She decided to wait until she was in Dubai, in order to confirm her suspicions with a pregnancy test. That way, she could immediately share the news in person with her husband. “It was so unexciting,” she said, laughing. “I walked into the room, I threw the test down. I was like, ’Guess what?’ He goes, ’We are?’” She was about 5 and a half weeks pregnant then.

Now, she’s eager to become a mother: “I can’t wait to see what the feeling is and what it’s like to just be a mom.”

Although having people close to you giving you advice and support throughout the journey of motherhood is crucial, sometimes nothing can prepare you for some of the ups and downs. That’s exactly what happened to an American mom who accidentally discovered she had been raising a stranger’s son for 12 years.
