Robert De Niro, 79, Welcomes His Seventh Child

’’I just had a baby,’’ declared Robert De Niro during an interview in a rather unexpected way. And while his oldest child is now 51-year-old, De Niro is still perfectly capable of giving love to this new member of his family, proving that fatherhood has no expiration date.

A surprising answer

As he was promoting his new movie About My Father, the Hollywood legend was asked what it feels like to be the dad of 6 kids, and De Niro corrected the reporter, telling him he has 7 children.

He stated that he welcomed a new child into his life, but he chose not to reveal the gender or name of the newborn.

The identity of the mom is yet to be confirmed.

The Academy Award-winning actor has kept the identity of his baby’s mother undisclosed.

However, recent reports have linked him to a martial arts instructor named Tiffany Chen, with whom he was seen holding hands in July 2022. In March of this year, she was spotted in California, and appeared to be pregnant.

He’s a hands-on father.

During the interview, Robert was asked about his approach to fatherhood, and he replied that he believes ’’in being loving’’ with his kids, but also noted that you have ’’to be stern about stuff.’’

He went on explaining, ’’I mean, there’s no way around it with kids. I don’t like to have to lay down the law and stuff like that. But, [sometimes] you just have no choice.’’ The actor added, ’’You always want to do the right thing by the children and give them the benefit of the doubt but sometimes you can’t.’’

De Niro, who is also a grandfather, has shared that, in his opinion, one of the best things a parent or grandparent can do is to encourage their children to pursue their aspirations and ambitions.

He noted, ’’For my kids, I tell them, ’If you want to be an actor or you want to do this or that, that’s fine as long as you’re happy. Just don’t sell yourself short.’’’ He also insisted that ’’it’s important for them to find their own lane.’’
