Selena Gomez Considers Taylor Swift Her Only Friend in the Music Industry, and They’re Truly Bestie Goals

Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez became besties when they both took their first steps in the music industry. But they’ve stuck by each other for over a decade and learned to navigate fame and new relationships together.

They met when they were both dating Jonas brothers.

Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift first crossed paths in 2008 when they were only 16 and 19 years old. “We actually dated the Jonas brothers together! It was hysterical,” Gomez recalled years later. Because Swift is 2 years older than Gomez, she always knows how to give her the best advice. “Because of her, I haven’t lost faith. We literally talk every day,” the singer and actress added.

They’ve kept each other company at many events, and Gomez even made an appearance at Swift’s tour in 2011.

Swift and Gomez made many public appearances in the decade following their first meeting. They were often captured sitting next to each other at screenings and award shows, all smiles.
