7 Celebs Who Were Blessed With Babies After Pregnancy Loss

1 in 4 pregnancies ends in miscarriage. In recent years, celebrities have started sharing their stories, bringing this painful subject out of the shadows. Here are the stories of 7 celeb mommies who have openly discussed their experiences and not only overcame pregnancy loss, but also welcomed their rainbow babies shortly after. They prove that there is always a light at the end of the dark tunnel.

Mariah Carey

Mariah Carey revealed that she had suffered a miscarriage 2 years earlier in an interview with Access Hollywood in 2010. Mariah said that she has never really been a very forthcoming person about her personal stuff, according to MTV. “It kind of shook us both and took us into a place that was really dark and difficult.”

In an interview with Vulture, she recalled that she still didn’t have fond memories of that experience, saying, “I wasn’t ready to tell anyone because I had had a miscarriage.” But in 2011, she and Nick Cannon were able to welcome twins Monroe and Moroccan.

Pink

Pink opened up about a tragic loss she experienced when she was just a teenager. She lost her baby when she was 17 but now has a beautiful family and is a mother of 2, Willow and Jameson. In an interview with USA Today, she revealed that she felt like her body failed her, and even though she was young at the time, she did want to have that child.

Beyoncé

In a documentary released in 2013, Beyoncé revealed that the first time she was pregnant ended in a loss, adding that it was the saddest thing she’d experienced, sharing, “I heard the heartbeat, which was the most beautiful music I ever heard in my life. But later, I flew back to New York to get my checkup — and no heartbeat.” Now, Beyoncé and her husband, Jay-Z, have 3 kids: Blue Ivy and twins Rumi and Sir.

Nicole Kidman

Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise adopted their children, Isabella and Connor, after the actress experienced an ectopic pregnancy and a miscarriage while they were still married. And after marrying Keith Urban, Kidman was able to give birth to Faith and welcome Sunday Rose via surrogate.

Talking about her experience, Kidman said in an interview with Tatler, “That yearning. It’s a huge, aching yearning. And the loss. The loss of a miscarriage is not talked about enough. That’s massive grief to certain women.”

Brooke Shields

As Brooke Shields told Fertility Today, she had a miscarriage after her first round of IVF. “Maybe I really wasn’t meant to have kids,” she said. “I didn’t want to be happy anymore for the many other people who were having kids. I knew that their blessing had nothing to do with me, but it felt like a slap in the face.”

But then Shields became pregnant, and now she has 2 teenage daughters, Rowan and Grier.

Nick Carter

In 2018, Nick Carter was transparent about his wife Lauren’s miscarriage. They had been expecting a baby girl. “God give us peace during this time,” Carter tweeted at the time. “I really was looking forward to meeting her after 3 months. I’m heartbroken.”

But in October 2019, they welcomed baby Saiorse, a little sister for their son, Odin, and 2 years later, their daughter, Pearl, joined the family.

Gwyneth Paltrow

In an interview published in March 2013 in Britain’s Daily Mail, the actress talked about a miscarriage that put her life at risk. “My children ask me to have a baby all the time,” she said. “But I had a really bad experience when I was pregnant with my third. It didn’t work out, and I nearly died. So I’m like, ’Are we good here or should we go back and try again?’”

Paltrow has 2 children, a daughter, Apple, and a son, Moses.
