After a Difficult First Pregnancy, Meghan Trainor’s Heart Is Full as She Reveals Baby No. 2 Is Coming Soon

Meghan Trainor and Daryl Sabara met at a house party almost a decade ago. She’s most well known for her hits All About That Bass, Made You Look, and we know him from the movie franchise Spy Kids. The 2 went on a double date set up by Chloë Grace Moretz and according to them, it was love at first sight. The couple welcomed Riley, their first son, in 2021 and they recently announced he will be a big brother, as they’re expecting their 4th family member.

During her first pregnancy, Meghan was diagnosed with gestational diabetes.

It happened when she was 16 weeks in and she admitted it took an emotional toll on her well-being. Whenever she would fail a blood test, even though she did everything right, she’d feel like a failure. When she gave birth to her first son Riley, he had breathing issues and had to be placed in neonatal care for 5 days. Luckily, he recovered and they were able to go home and begin their parenting journey.

In October 2022, the singer shared that her newborn, Riley, used to sleep constantly after his birth, and not having a cause for it was really frustrating. Doctors told her, “sometimes it happens.” In the first weeks after becoming a mother, Meghan began therapy and managed to work through things.

As Trainor and Sabara were trying for their second baby, she found it really “scary going into another pregnancy being like, ’Well, I hope that doesn’t happen again.’”

Fast forward to 2023, Meghan and Daryl announced that they were further expanding their family.

The Grammy Award winner chose Instagram as the best way to break the news. She posted a picture of her kissing the sonogram pictures of her baby, sharing that “BABY #2 COMING THIS SUMMER.” The post gathered more than 1 million likes.

Until this point, she kept the pregnancy on the down-low by only wearing hoodies, saying, “Everyone’s like, ’You’re not even showing, you’re so small.’ I’m like, ’Well, you can’t see me!’ For real.”

4 months into her 2nd pregnancy, the 29-year-old pop star shared that she feels blessed and that she’s “just so grateful I can get pregnant. And I’m like, ’I’m crushing it. This is amazing. This is my dream.’ I’m halfway there — I want 4 kids!”

We wish Meghan and Daryl all the best on their new, exciting journey, and we hope they’ll be blessed with a happy and safe birth and a healthy and lovely baby.

What do you think is the hardest part about pregnancy? What is something you wish you knew before becoming a parent?
