16 Uses for Bubble Wrap You Probably Haven’t Heard Before

If you thought that the only thing you can do with bubble wrap is to pop it to release stress, be prepared for a surprise because there are actually so many ways to use it! It’s so practical that there’s even a Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day!

We at Bright Side always like learning new handy tricks and we came up with this selection to share with you.

1. Window insulation

Lower your heating bill by using bubble wrap as window insulation. Just spray a bit of water and stick on your bubble wrap bubble-side toward the glass. It’s also very easy to take down and put back up again.

2. Cake decorating

You can make a very cool cake decoration with bubble wrap.

Spread melted chocolate onto clean bubble wrap and wrap it all around the cake. When the chocolate hardens, peel off the bubble wrap. You can make the chocolate just slightly taller than the cake to hold toppings.

3. Wall decoration

By injecting paint into the bubbles, you can make a very unique art project. It looks almost like a 3D design and you can create almost anything you want!

4. Padded hanger

You can use this trick to avoid creases in your pants. Just tape and wrap a piece of bubble wrap around the base of a normal hanger.

5. Groceries

There’s nothing worse than finding half-melted ice cream when you get home and this trick will help you avoid it. Bubble wrap is very good insulation material and it will help you keep your groceries cold or warm. Just line your grocery bags with bubble wrap before using them.

6. Keep tools in good condition

Line your toolbox with bubble wrap to protect your tools. Hold the wrap in place with duct tape. The cushioning will help your tools last longer.

7. Protect outdoor plants

Protect outdoor plants from frost by wrapping them in bubble wrap. The bubble wrap is very good for insulation and it will keep the plants warm.

8. Calendar

Each day, you just pop one bubble. Either way, decrease your stress by popping one bubble a day.

9. Store your shoes

Bubble wrap can help keep shoes in good condition. Place a small piece of rolled-up bubble wrap in each of your shoes to help them keep their shape. Roll up longer pieces to keep the calves of your boots standing upright.

10. Camping

If you like camping, you can use it to make a mat under your sleeping bag. It is so much more comfortable! The bubble wrap makes a nice cushion for your body and also keeps your sleeping bag dry.

As mentioned before, bubble wrap is great insulation material, it will keep your food and drinks either warm or cold. Just wrap your food in bubble wrap.

If you’re not using a bag on a regular basis, it may start losing its shape. Line the handbag with bubble wrap to keep it upright.

13. Vacations

Use bubble wrap for fragile, delicate, breakable objects to make sure that you bring your treasures home.

14. Car windscreen

Place bubble wrap on the windscreen before a winter storm and you won’t have to worry about removing the frost from it.

15. Protect walls

Do you have a door that hits a wall when it’s opened? Protect the wall from damage by putting some bubble wrap where the handle hits it.

16. Decorating your house
