20 Tattoos That Speak Louder Than Words

Tattoos are an expression of art, but they manage to accomplish way more than just show a nice illustration on our bodies. Some people have them as a reminder of a special occasion in their lives, of a loved one, or even of their pets. These everlasting impressions are not just a pretty design, but they also narrate a story that will be forever engraved in their owners’ skin.

Bright Side has found several examples on the Internet from people who have decided to use ink to treasure important moments in their lives.

1. “My cat entering a room”

2. “My daughter’s voice, saying, ’I love you, Baba.’”

3. “My Nan, not letting anything get her down”

4. “Got a tattoo with my siblings!”

5. “My mother got herself a Pikachu tattoo. Apart from being a huge Pokémon fan, she did it because it reminds her of me and she wanted something that represents me as a kid growing up without a dad.”

“I love her so much and this was the sweetest thing ever.”

6. “My grandma (77 years young) just got her first tattoo! ‘It didn’t hurt at all.’”

7. “A complete stranger and I got tattoos of each other’s faces.”

8. “A memorial piece done in memory of my childhood dog”

9. “This is for my little boy. Now, no matter how big he gets, I’ll always have my wiggly little monster close to my heart.”

10. “A memorial for my little sister”

11. “An homage to my stepfather who passed away last summer.”

12. “An eagle that my father was supposed to get tattooed but couldn’t due to health problems, so I got it for him.”

13. “This is my first tattoo. It makes me happy.”

14. “I got this 2 years ago in memory of my mom. It’s based on a painting she did, and in the bottom right corner are her initials from the painting (DK). The beach was our special place.”

15. “I used to write this on my arm with a sharpie in high school. In February, I finally got to meet my favorite band and the lead singer wrote it out so I could get it tattooed.”

16. “My grandparents’ first date, 54 years ago”

17. “This is better than the refrigerator. My son did this painting in second grade and I really wanted to do something special with it. My tattoo artist captured every beautiful imperfection of my little guy’s work.”

18. “Not an intricate piece, but it’s my very first tattoo (I’m 67 years old) to honor my autistic grandson. So pleased with it.”

19. “My wife and I had our first son, Perry, in May, so this is my newest tattoo: a crowned pear for my prince, Perry!”

20. “Birth flowers for the 2 babies we’ll never get to meet”
