10 Celebrities Who Spoke Out Against Plastic Surgery, and We All Applaud Their Honesty
Celebrities live under the constant pressure of having to always look perfect. And while many of them choose to go under the knife and try to hold on to their youth, some stars believe aging is natural, and instead of undergoing drastic procedures, they embrace their wrinkles.
We at Bright Side applaud these confident women who decided to say no to plastic surgery and show all of us that aging can be beautiful.
1. Jamie Lee Curtis
The Freaky Friday star is an outspoken person, and she doesn’t hide how she feels about plastic surgery. She admitted that none of these procedures worked for her, and now she’s against them. “The current trend of fillers and procedures, and this obsession with filtering, and the things that we do to adjust our appearance on Zoom are wiping out generations of beauty. Once you mess with your face, you can’t get it back,” she said.
2. Jennifer Aniston
The award-winning actress admitted she had rhinoplasty for health reasons, but when it comes to altering your face, she believes it looks pathetic. “I think what I have been witness to, is seeing women trying to stay ageless with what they are doing to themselves. I am grateful to learn from their mistakes because I am not injecting anything into my face. They are trying to stop the clock and all you can see is an insecure person who won’t let themselves just age,” she said.
3. Drew Barrymore
The Never Been Kissed actress believes we should celebrate and embrace aging and not try to run away from it. “I say, don’t fight the rings on the trunk of a tree. Just keep counting ‘em. The idea of not looking like myself scares me. I just think a person’s character is what’s interesting,” she shared.
4. Emma Thompson
The Oscar winner looks absolutely stunning at the age of 62, and she definitely isn’t planning to go under the knife. “I’m not fiddling about with myself. We’re in this awful youth-driven thing now where everybody needs to look 30 at 60. This is the law of diminishing returns. The trick is to age honestly and gracefully and make it look great so that everyone looks forward to it,” she said.
5. Meryl Streep
The It’s Complicated actress has a unique look and refuses to alter herself to Hollywood beauty standards. She made her unusual beauty her trademark and refuses to think about plastic surgery. “I just don’t get it. You have to embrace getting older,” she said.
6. Kristen Stewart
The award-winning actress admits even the thought of changing something in her appearance scares her. “I am so freaked out by the idea of doing anything. And maybe that’s completely arrogant but I don’t want to change anything about myself. I think the women who do are losing their minds. It’s vandalism,” she shared.
7. Halle Berry
The X-Men star believes you have to accept the fact you’re going to look older eventually. “Aging is natural, and that’s going to happen to all of us. I just want to always look like myself, even if that’s an older version of myself. I think when you do too much of that cosmetic stuff, you become somebody else in a way,” she said.
8. Heidi Klum
The world-famous model takes pride in her natural beauty and isn’t planning to change anything. “I’m proud to be able to say, in this day and age, I haven’t done anything. Everyone has a view of what’s not pretty and plastic surgery just doesn’t look pretty to me,” she shared.
9. Salma Hayek
Although the actress believes “every woman is entitled to fight to preserve her youth,” she personally is against plastic surgery. “It’s like the uniform of a generation. And it’s not necessarily beautiful. It’s not wrinkled-looking, but it’s not beautiful,” she said.
10. Julianne Moore
The 61-year-old actress is certain she’ll never have cosmetic surgery because it will affect her career. “Personally, I’ve not had anything done. My job means too much to me. It’s important to be able to play women at all points in their lives and I don’t like products that freeze your face in time. I need to show expressions,” she explained.
What do you think about plastic surgery? If you were a Hollywood star, would you change something in your look or embrace your natural beauty?
