What 10+ Singers Who Made Us Dance Till We Drop Look Like Now

At all times there is one musical style that always remains unchanged. We call it “songs that blow up dance floors.” Singers of these songs flicker before our eyes so often that it’s impossible to not know them by sight. While the hits themselves get stuck in our heads and make us move to the beat.

We at Bright Side are forever nostalgic. We remember the singers whose tracks were familiar to everyone during their teenage days. And we tried to find out what they look like now. Let’s see how they have changed.

Nelly Furtado

We remember Nelly for her popular songs “Promiscuous,” “Say It Right,” “Give It to Me” together with Timbaland and Justin Timberlake. After these hits, she released 3 albums, which, unfortunately, couldn’t repeat her past success. She continues to write songs and even takes part in art installations. Now she’s an independent artist.

50 Cent

“Candy Shop” and “In da Club” made even the laziest dancers move to the beat. Despite hard fate, 50 Cent managed to become a star and conquer millions of fans. But he didn’t limit himself to music. He has taken part in numerous films as an actor and producer. He is also involved in business and investments.

Dido

Dido became popular after the Eminem single “Stan” that she took part in. But we also know her by her hits “White Flag” and “Life for Rent.” After resounding success, the singer continued to write music. She managed to release 2 more albums and in 2019 went on a world tour for the first time in 15 years.

Usher

“Yeah!” sang Usher and we couldn’t help but sing along. We also remember him for his dancing talent, which he showed over and over again in his videos. His last album was released in 2018. Usher is actively involved in business, owns several restaurants, does charity work, and, to this day, acts in films.

The Pussycat Dolls

We don’t have enough fingers to count all the hits of this band: “Buttons,” “Don’t Cha,” and many others. 6 girls kindled our hearts with their energetic songs and dances. But suddenly, in 2010, they split apart. It took 9 years until the Pussycat Dolls reunited in 2019. Now they’re releasing new songs and getting ready for a world tour.

Akon

Akon burst into our players with “Smack That” that he recorded with Eminem. He took the top spots on the charts many times and even got a Guinness Record for selling the most ringtones in the world. Today Akon still creates music and already has his own label. He also has a project called AKONCITY
aimed at building a city in Senegal.

Kesha

She gave us the first “Tik Tok” and made us dance crazy. But her career hasn’t been as lighthearted as this song. From 2014 to 2016 she was suing her producer and underwent rehab for bulimia. Despite all of her difficulties, she didn’t give up her musical career and released a new album in 2020.

The Black Eyed Peas

“Let’s Get It Started,” “Don’t Phunk with My Heart,” “Pump It,” and that’s just the beginning of the list with this band’s hits. They worked fruitfully together until 2011 when they decided to take a break. But when they reunited in 2015, Fergie didn’t return. Her place was taken by a new vocalist who participated in creating their last album in 2020.

Adam Levine

Adam Levine, the lead vocalist of Maroon 5, is remembered for his special voice. We jumped to “This Love” and were melancholy to “She Will Be Loved.” He sang for us in the old days and continues to please us now. He’s still a part of Maroon 5 which regularly releases new hits and goes on tour almost every year.

Avril Lavigne

Avril, the rebel, lit us up with tracks like “Complicated” and “Sk8er Boi.” We remember her wearing a tie and tank top. But with time she changed her image, while retaining her wild energy. She tried herself in fashion and cinema. Now she is actively involved in charity work and plans to release a new album in 2021.

Ryan Tedder

The lead singer of OneRepublic, and also a producer, didn’t just give us “Apologize.” He created the no less famous “Bleeding Love” for Leona Lewis and “Halo” for Beyoncé. He won 3 Grammies as a song writer. Despite working with various artists, Ryan is still a part of his band. They have huge plans for this year: new album and tour.

Backstreet Boys

Meet the first boy band whose albums were on top of US charts for 3 decades. The world heard “I Want It That Way” and “Backstreet’s Back.” But most of all, we remember “Incomplete.” The band doesn’t plan to stop and continues to release new songs and give concerts worldwide. There is even a documentary about these legendary guys.

Anastacia

Few people know, but her hits “Left Outside Alone” and “Sick and Tired” were written after Anastacia beat breast cancer. The disease returned to her in 2013. But she managed to beat it for a second time and continued to make music. In 2017, she released her last album, and in 2019 she took part in a musical.

Who do you think changed the most? What song did you like to dance to? Share your memories in the comments.
