Collecting is a hobby that dates back at least 105,000 years, when people collected crystals in South Africa. Some people collect as a hobby, others for the joy of it, and some do it as a way to pay homage to their favorite team, artist, or town. There are so many other hobbies that people choose to do, including skydiving, harvesting wild vegetables and many more. And there are some celebrities out there that have some of the most interesting hobbies.

1. Ryan Gosling

Even though Gosling is very protective of his personal life, we do know that he likes to knit. This is a hobby he picked up while filming the movie, Lars and the Real Girl. But before he was known for his acting abilities, Gosling had a folk band that was formed back in 2005. They even released their first album in 2009, which was quite good.

2. Paris Hilton

Some wealthy people collect art or jewelry, and some hunt for antique furniture. This famous heiress likes to go to her ranches in Oakland or Nevada and collect frogs from the wild and put them inside a bucket. She then releases the frogs back into nature without harming them.

3. Beyoncé

Known as the Queen Bee, the singer has had 2 very real beehives at her home for years now. She hosts over 80,000 bees and makes her very own honey. In fact, she fills hundreds of jars with honey every year. The reason she took this hobby on in the first place was because of her daughters who have allergies, as honey is known for its multiple health benefits.

4. Katy Perry

There are many people out there who want to own things that once belonged to famous people, and Katy Perry is one of them, as she owns strands of hair from celebrities. To be more specific, she once asked Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift for some of their hair and carried it in her bag. It would be awesome to hear who else has given her some of their locks.

5. Penélope Cruz

During her long career, Cruz must have worn countless designer outfits, and maybe that’s where her love for coat hangers was birthed. The actress has said that she has collected over 500 hangers in different colors and shapes, but none of them are metal.

6. Claudia Schiffer

You can never know what someone’s interests are, and in the case of the famous model, her interest is insects. In fact, Schiffer’s love for insects began in her childhood, when her main focus was spiders. However, her collection grew with the years, and she now has a massive insect collection as well as a library full of encyclopedias about insects.

The actor learned from his grandmother from a very young age to knit, and he hasn’t stopped enjoying his hobby. Not only that, but he was chosen for the cover of the book, Celebrity Scarves 2: Hollywood Knits for Breast Cancer Research. In the book, he talks about all his favorite scarf patterns.

The celebrated actress might not look like the adventurous type, but she really is. She has a skydiving license and loves the experience since, as she says, it’s the closest thing to flying. She truly believes that every woman should jump out of a plane at least once in her life. However, she dislikes bungee-jumping, as she doesn’t like the idea of hanging upside down from a rope.

9. Leslie Mann

While bicycling is something most kids are taught from a very young age, the actress was given a unicycle when she was 10. Since then, she has taught herself some very impressive skills, such as jumping off curbs and going backward. It’s definitely a great skill to add to her resume.

10. Shailene Woodley

The actress could likely survive on her own if she were to live in the wild for months. As she has explained, she loves creating everything by herself and even harvests her own food. Once a month, she goes to the mountains and collects fresh water, while also foraging wild foods and herbs. With the things she gets from nature, she makes her own products, like toothpaste, face oil, body lotion, and even cheese.

Do you have any unique hobbies that people tell you are weird, but you absolutely love? What are they and how many people do you know who also enjoy them?
