Pregnancy, by all means, isn’t easy, and growing an entire human inside your body is incredibly hard work. But as we read the happy news shared by celebrities, we rarely see the less-than-glamorous side of expecting a baby from them. Luckily, over the years, celebrity moms have also started to talk about some pretty challenging parts of pregnancy and childbirth to help women all over the world feel that they’re not alone.

We at Bright Side applaud these brave and confident women who spoke openly about all the highs and lows of being pregnant.

1. Amy Schumer

The stand-up comedian never holds back, and she was pretty honest when talking about her challenging pregnancy. “It’s been pretty tough. I didn’t realize pregnancies could be such a bummer. I threw up a bunch of times on my way, but worth it,” she said.

2. Katherine Heigl

The Grey’s Anatomy star admitted she never wanted to be pregnant. “I’ve never been determined to experience pregnancy. But I’m so grateful that I did. I think that if it hadn’t been a surprise, I’m not sure I would have done it,” she said.

“The thing that really got me was the indigestion. I never stopped burping. And I felt terrible about it, but there was just nothing I could do — I would be in the middle of saying something and I’d just start burping,” she added.

3. Mila Kunis

The award-winning actress and the mother of two said her husband was her biggest support during her pregnancy and birth. “Two people are allowed in my delivery room: my doctor and my significant other,” she revealed.

4. Miranda Kerr

The world-famous model has 3 children, and she admitted her third pregnancy was the toughest. “There was a lot of morning sickness in the beginning. It was probably the harder pregnancy out of the 3. Flynn was very smooth sailing. With Hart, I had a little bit of morning sickness. But with this little one, I’ve had terrible morning sickness,” she shared.

5. Amy Poehler

The Saturday Night Live star, just like many busy moms out there, had to combine work and family. “I was halfway through my seventh season at SNL, and no one really noticed my nausea or extreme tiredness. That was par for the course at a job that made you stay up all night long and eat cold mozzarella sticks you had to buy yourself... I was 8 months pregnant and did 15 live shows in 13 weeks,” she wrote.

6. Ellie Kemper

The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt actress shared she wasn’t having the easiest time with her second pregnancy. “The first trimester was awful. I have a 2-year-old now, and when I was pregnant with him, I was fine. First trimester [this time], just terrible! Just tired and nauseous and all of it,” she said.

7. Anne Hathaway

The Oscar winner spoke openly about her struggles with infertility. “For everyone going through infertility and conception hell, please know it was not a straight line to either of my pregnancies. Sending you extra love,” she wrote on her Instagram account.

“It’s wonderful that we celebrate the happy moment when it’s ready to share. I think there is a silence around the moments before that and they are not all happy, and, in fact, a lot of them are quite painful. I think that pain is that these women feel like we’re the only ones going through it,” she added later in an interview.

8. Khloé Kardashian

For the reality show star, like for most moms-to-be, the beginning of her pregnancy was the most challenging. “At the beginning, the first trimester is the worst, and no one knows you’re pregnant yet, and you feel the most uncomfortable. I think once people know you’re pregnant, you get all the excuses,” she said.

9. Molly Sims

The Yes Man actress shared that the most difficult part of her pregnancy was sickness, and many expectant moms can definitely relate to that. “I’ve been crazy sick. I wake up in the morning, I feel like I wanna vomit. I have vomited at grocery stores, I have vomited in my house, I have gagged on my toothpaste,” she said.

10. Megan Fox

The award-winning actress and a busy mom said being pregnant for the second time was much easier for her. “For the most part, I would say it’s been a lot easier. I think that could have a lot to do with the fact that I already have a baby, so I’m so distracted taking care of him, that I don’t really have time to sit and lament on the fact that I’m pregnant or indulge in my pregnancy,” she shared.

Whose words resonated with you the most? For you, what was the most challenging part of being pregnant?
