Recent studies say that happiness is not a feeling that suddenly comes from nowhere, but it’s created by the little things in our lives. Although we are not always able to see those little things because of the rush we live in today, it is important to pay attention to moments that add a little bit of happiness to our everyday lives. Our parent’s wedding anniversary, a vacation spent with family after long weeks of working, and the smiles on the faces of our loved ones — those are the moments we live for.
We at Bright Side made a compilation of people who noticed and captured those moments. And we want to remind our readers how important it is to appreciate all the little things our lives are made of.
1. My wife has never looked more beautiful. Can’t wait to meet my little girl next week.
2. 20th Wedding Anniversary
3. After working 70+ hours/week since January, I finally got to take a couple days off to spend with my daughter and wife at the beach.
4. My 100-year-old granny gives “pearls of wisdom” to strangers.
“My grandma will be 100 years old next month. She is still pretty mentally and physically together and lives alone. Still, she has 7 kids, 16 grandkids, and 24 great-grandkids. Anyway, this is a pic of her from this afternoon, dispensing ‘pearls of wisdom’ for $1. Her idea. She likes people.”
5. My best friend got engaged today and I had the honor of capturing this beautiful moment. She said yes!
6. My dog gets really anxious in the car, so my grandma asked to sit in the back with him. The whole car ride, all I heard was, "It’s okay, we’re almost there, brave boy.
7. My toddler drew on the wall. Here is my reaction. I win at life and laughter today!

8. I found this on my work-from-home desk this morning. It was put there for me by my little girl. I love being a dad.
9. My mom found my book in her local library and I can’t get over how proud she looks.
10. My mom during chemo with her youngest grandbaby, twinning in pink! (My mom is now cancer-free!)
11. My cousins and I were doing piggyback rides and my 90-year-old great-grandma wanted a ride, so I made it happen.
12. My husband, and my son, in the same outfit made by my mother-in-law. 1985 and 2020.
13. Celebrated my grandmother’s 100th birthday today.
14. My mini-me! After 4 miscarriages, here is the light of my life. When I saw this photo of her, on the left, it reminded me of this photo from when I was 12 months old, on the right!
15. After 6 grandsons in a row, we had 2 granddaughters born within 12 days of each other!
16. Made me smile and can’t stop now! Never felt more at home... Say hello to Karl!
