More than 50% of women can experience noticeable hair loss in their lifetime. This especially applies to women older than 40 who have just had babies or started menopause. Yes, you can cut your hair short, but still, it’s worth trying to overcome the problem.

We at Bright Side think that every part of our body should stay healthy and are sharing some professional tips on how to repair your hair.

1. Apply some oil only to your scalp.

Oils can be very useful to help grow hair, but before applying anything, make sure that it’s okay to do it for the whole length. For example, castor oil is great to enrich only your scalp for improving your hairline.

2. First, try a gentle shampoo before opting for anything medical.

If you’ve noticed dandruff, don’t run to the pharmacy to buy a special shampoo right away. First, try a gentle shampoo to reduce oil. If it doesn’t work you can consult with a doctor and start using a dandruff shampoo.

Don’t forget that dry scalp and problems with hair can be a result of allergies or hormonal changes. Before trying something, have some tests to make sure you do everything right because the cause can just be a shampoo that provokes allergies.

3. Use a cinnamon mask.

Cinnamon has a good influence on hair and the scalp because it has antimicrobial properties and stimulates blood circulation. To make a mask, you need to mix equal parts cinnamon and coconut oil. Then apply it to your scalp and hair roots. Leave it there for 45 minutes before rinsing it properly.

4. Wash your hair with a gentle shampoo.

If you have problems with your hairline, don’t wash your hair every day but 2-3 times per week with a shampoo void of any harsh chemicals. As an option, you can use herbal shampoos, especially those containing chamomile, aloe vera, biotin, cysteine, proteins, and vitamin E.

5. Use conditioner every day and shampoo every 2-3 days.

Yes, it’s better to wash your hair every 2-3 days, but we forget that hair needs moisturizing every day. Just rinse your hair with lukewarm water and apply the conditioner without washing with a shampoo. Hair that remains properly moisturized will be stronger, thicker, and less likely to break.

6. Get at least 11 mg of zinc every day to help repair your hairline.

Zinc can lead to hair loss and other issues, but only if you have enough of it every day. The recommended daily intake of zinc is 8 mg to 11 mg. Still, some hair loss experts suggest a limit of 25 mg, but it should not be taken for longer than 2 to 3 weeks.

7. Use coffee masks for the scalp.

Caffeine has a positive effect on hair growth. It prevents hair fallout and increases circulation when massaged directly into your scalp. Caffeine blocks a hormone known as dihydrotestosterone (DHT) that is responsible for hair loss. Additionally, coffee contains flavonoids, which work as antioxidants that are vital for regeneration.
