A Boy Who Was The World’s Heaviest Kid Shows How One Decision Can Change Your Whole Life

Meet Arya Permana, a teenager from Indonesia. Not too long ago, Arya weighed 421 lb (191 kg) and had to take showers outside in a specially constructed pool. Despite being labeled the “world’s fattest kid,” Arya proves that hard work and goal-setting can lead to remarkable achievements. Let’s take a closer look at Arya’s story and the inspiring journey he has been on.

The boy gained the unfortunate nickname of “the world’s fattest child.”

At just 16 years old, Arya Permana used to consume five meals every day, which included rice, fish, meat, vegetable soup, and a traditional soy patty. The amount of food he ate was enough to feed two average adults.

Because of his excessive weight, Arya faced challenges, such as being unable to attend school due to breathlessness while walking. Additionally, finding clothes that fit him became a struggle, and for a long time, he had to rely on wearing nothing more than a sarong.

But eventually, he made a courageous decision to turn things around.

Arya Permana transformed remarkably from a boy weighing 421 lb (191 kg) to a much slimmer version of himself, now at just 183 lb (83 kg). This incredible achievement didn’t just stop there — he has inspired many by motivating others to embrace healthier lifestyles.

All credit goes to his dedicated trainer, Ade Rai, who guided him in understanding the importance of physical activity and maintaining a balanced diet.

Arya has become a symbol of hope for many.

His trainer shared that Arya initially weighed 187 lb (85 kg) before his appetite drastically increased. However, he’s now on a journey to slim down while keeping his joyful spirit intact. It’s particularly impressive because this quality is quite rare among adults. Arya has become a symbol of hope and inspiration, with people now saying things like, “Even Arya can lose weight, so why can’t I?”

The kid is doing amazing things by following a strict training schedule, maintaining a nutritious diet, and receiving excellent medical care. According to Ade Somantri, Aria’s father, his son’s weight loss success is attributed to a combination of medical care, a dedicated exercise routine, and a healthy diet.

Arya used not to be able to stand for more than a few minutes at a time. He can now play football and other sports with his pals and walk to school after undergoing a major operation to reduce the amount he eats. And we are so happy for him!
