With a powerhouse of a mother that is Diana Ross, it was clear from the beginning that her daughter, Tracee Ellis, was destined for greatness too. The Black-ish and Girlfriends star turned 50 last year, and although she’s achieved great things in her career as an actress, she’s still figuring out her personal life, and cannot be happier at this point in her life.

Tracee has fully realized her own career.

Ross was lucky enough to grow up with an incredible role model in the face of her mom, Diana Ross. From the very young age, Tracee was surrounded by the Hollywood glamour and an example of a powerful woman in charge of her career. In the early 2000s, she finally found a special spot for herself in the world of television. Tracee became the star of the sitcom Girlfriends, that went on to run for 8 seasons.

In 2014, Ross landed a main role on what became a critically-acclaimed sitcom Black-ish. The show brought Tracee mainstream success and even a Golden Globe Award for the Best Actress in a Television Series Musical or Comedy category.

She was beyond excited to turn 50.

While many women dread the moment they turn 50, Ross discovered that this milestone have invigorated her. She excitedly shared her feelings on the matter: “I think I’m the sexiest I’ve ever been. I feel fantastic, and I feel like the world is my oyster.” And she should absolutely feel this way, we think she looks absolutely incredible.

Tracee has also reflected on the other big factor in her life, and that is being child-free in her fifties. She once wrote in her journal that this thought can be troubling at times: “I can feel my body’s ability to make a child draining out of me.” But, ultimately, she believes she’s in the exact right place in her life: “I woke up every morning of my life, and I’ve tried to do my best, so I must be where I’m supposed to be.”

She has no interest in a mediocre relationship.

As for the Mr. Right, Ross has absolutely no expectation and enjoys her singledom. She explained that her life doesn’t have to stop just because there’s no man to spend it with. Tracee said: “Listen! He’s gonna come, he’s not gonna come — in the meantime I’m gonna live my life and have a ball!”

In addition, the actress explains that she’s looking for someone truly special, and won’t settle for anyone just to not be alone. According to Tracee: “I would love a relationship that makes my life better than it is. I have no interest in just being in a relationship.”

Another fabulous actress in her fifties, who’s constantly dodging questions about her relationship and motherhood status is Jennifer Aniston. The Friends star have stayed silent for decades, until she couldn’t take the nosy people and told everyone off. You can read about her statements here.
