Nearly 2 months have passed since Blake Lively’s fourth pregnancy surprise was announced to the public. The adorable couple has always been open in the past about wanting a big family, and now Ryan Reynolds, the father of 4, opens up about what he wants his baby’s gender to be — which also tells us he doesn’t know what the sex of his next baby will be.

Kids are always his top priority.

Ryan Reynolds is the ideal girl daddy. The couple is already parents to daughters James, 7; Inez, 6; and Betty, 3. He decided to step back from his acting career, explaining, “The biggest thing for me, and I know you have kids as well, is that I don’t want to miss this time with my kids.”

He’s crossing his fingers for another girl.

The father of 3, who will soon be a father of 4, recently shared why he hopes for another girl and talked about the child he and his wife, Blake Lively, are expecting. Reynolds said he hopes the child he has with Lively will be a girl while speaking in an interview. He presented a relatable explanation for why he wanted another girl to join the family of big sisters.

“I know girls, so I’m kind of hoping that,” Reynolds admitted.

The actor is the youngest of 4 boys, so he is familiar with the chaos boys can cause in a home. The actor stated, “I come from all brothers, which is why I speak from experience. I love my well-being, and I love my home. I was the youngest of 4, and we were just arsonists and firemen.” However, the father of 3 assured during the interview that he and Lively will be “ready for whatever happens.”

Following their tradition, the couple waits to learn the gender of the child until they’re born.

The couple hasn’t announced the due date of their little one, and it turns out that Reynolds and Lively tend to wait until the child is born to find out if it is a boy or a girl, so the gender will likely stay a mystery for a while.

Do you think a baby’s gender has anything to do with its parents’ love?
