9. 1917

This story centers around 2 soldiers. They have to carry an important message that will help more than a thousand people avoid a deadly trap. For that, they need to cross deep into enemy territory.

8. Ford v Ferrari

The film tells about Ford Motor Company’s attempt to leave Ferrari behind in the 24 Hours of Le Mans race in 1966. To win, Henry Ford contacts Carroll Shelby, an automotive designer, who agrees to create a new race car with the help of a hot-tempered racer and mechanic, Ken Miles.

7. Jojo Rabbit

An awkward 10-year-old boy is trying to find his place in the world during the WW2. While he can’t find friends in the real world or gain support from his mother, he creates an unexpected imaginary friend for himself. But the situation gets out of the control when he finds out that his mother is hiding a Jewish girl in their house.

6. Joker

Joker tells the origin story of the most ruthless comic book villain. We see him back in the 1980s as Arthur Fleck, who worked as a clown and dreamed about being a stand-up comedian. Life failures, a mental illness, and society awaken his darkness and turn his ‘happy face’ into a mask.

5. Little Women

Little Women is based on the novel by Louisa May Alcott, an American writer. It follows the lives of 4 sisters in their journey from childhood to womanhood. First love and loss and the search for themselves and their place in the world are just a couple of pitfalls there, and they need each other to go through all the slings and arrows.

4. Marriage Story

This film is about a complicated divorce, but you won’t see many court scenes. Viewers are offered a peek into the world of broken families before and after the hearings, consultations, and meetings with lawyers, into the times when they only have each other to talk to.

3. Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood

Rick and Cliff are 2 buds from the Hollywood of the past. Rick used to be a famous actor, but now his career is coming to an end. Cliff is an ex-stunt double who’s struggling to find any work after rumors go around that he killed his wife. Both of them are looking for their place in this new world.

2. Parasite

This is a story about a Korean family who lives in a stinky half-basement apartment and makes money by folding pizza boxes. They dream about better life, and one day luck is on their side — they’re hired by a wealthy family. But everything changes when they discover the secret that has been kept inside the house for a long time.

1. The Irishman

The Irishman is a crime film that is based on the true story about the disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa, an American labor union leader. The story focuses on Frank Sheeran, his supposed killer. An elderly man living in a nursing home remembers the times when he used to be a delivery truck driver and knew nothing about the crime world. One day his life changes, and he starts to “paint houses,” and it has nothing to do with paint or houses.

Bonus: Leading actor and actress nominees

Joaquin Phoenix — Joker

Jonathan Pryce — The Two Popes

What movie would you vote for? Do you think that there are other movies that deserve to be on this list, but that have been ignored by critics?

Leonardo DiCaprio’s enduring bond with Kate Winslet has been a topic of admiration since their iconic roles in “Titanic.” Winslet recently touched fans when she revealed that DiCaprio feels more like her husband than her actual spouse, emphasizing the profound impact he’s had on her life. Their deep connection was evident in their intense performances in “Revolutionary Road,” where they leveraged their friendship to portray a troubled couple.
