Woman Breaks Down After Working Her First 9-5 Job
Starting a new job can be a daunting experience, but for one recent college graduate on TikTok, it resulted in her being overcome with emotions in a now-viral video. Brielle, from New Jersey, let her frustrations out in a video where she burst into tears about how she had no time outside of work for her social life.
A college graduate on TikTok broke down while talking about her work schedule.
The video, which now has over 1.5 million views, shows Brielle crying while expressing her struggle at work. “Nothing to do with my job at all, but just like the 9-5 schedule in general is just crazy,” she said.
While her job is based in New York, she had to move to New Jersey to deal with high rent prices, and now has to make a long commute that is the source of her frustration. “I leave here and get on the train at like 7:30am and I don’t get home until 6:15pm earliest. I don’t have the time to do anything.”
Brielle also expressed how the 9-5 work schedule made it difficult for her to have time to herself. “I don’t have energy to work out, like that’s out of the window. I’m so upset. Oh my god.” She said she knew she was being “emotional” and “dramatic” for worrying about the fact that her work made it impossible for her to see her friends or have relationships.
While many sympathized with her situation, others welcomed her to “adulthood.”
Many in the comments agreed with her complaints, with one comment saying: “You’re not alone, it’s insane how legit your entire day is gone.” Another comment said, “It’s so repetitive and depressing. I feel you girl.”
But certain people felt differently, and mocked Brielle by welcoming her to “the real world” and “adulthood,” “Gen X here and this cracks me up.” One comment said, “I did a full-time job and 2 part-time jobs while going to college full-time. 9-5 is amazing.”
Working certain jobs can come with their fair share of challenges, such as this Amazon driver who complained people don’t leave snacks for her when she delivers their packages.
