Why is it so bad to have stuff all of a sudden? I like my stuff. Most of it is beautiful and makes me happy.

Having stuff isn't bad.
The idea is that many people keep buying more and more, and never throw it away. Old or new, it doesn't matter, they just don't want to let those things go, and as a result they create rubbish around them (and in their lives)

I admit that I have way too much stuff, and that I should give some away, but there ia a limit to what I will keep. Fine for those who like to sit on hard floors, but with my arthrosis, I prefer sitting in my Lazyboy.

Minimalistic life is good both for people and nature. If we stop buying so much stuff, we don't need to produce it too

I am going to get the book mentioned in the article. I do look need the ministic life-style. IV e am surrounded by junk: books, CDs, DVDs, games and gaming systems ( Nintendo, Sony, Xbox a nd even Sega), wires, wires and more wires, yarn enough to take up a whole room, crafting supplies. 6 book shelves of books I've read, a kitchen filled of modern AND antique gadgets and let's not start on the bathroom let's just say it's full. A change is needed NOW
