This topic is very controversial, really. From one point we can understand both surrogate mothers and 'customers'.. But we never think what the children feel about all of this, what they grow up. Children aren't an object for sale, after all.

Surrogates are amazing women who should be cherished. They risk their lives to have a baby for someone else. In Australia, for example, the risk of death for any woman becoming pregnant and giving birth is 1 in 10,000. Compare this to being struck by lightning - 1 in 300,000. Or winning the lottery- 1 in millions.

Surrogate mothers are selfless and strong women. To carry a pregnancy for 9 months and give up the child in spite of any bond formed takes an incredible amount of the strength that many women do not have. There are many misconceptions that society has about surrogate mothers, which must be debunked.
