The 48-year-old actress and her husband, actor Javier Bardem, are parents to an 11-year-old boy and a 9-year-old girl. She believes that social media is “especially affecting younger generations.” And she added, “I feel really bad for the ones that are teenagers now.”

In fact, Cruz also admitted that she herself has a “strange relationship” with it. She went on to explain that her 2 kids will not have phones “until they are much older,” saying, “No social media until at least 16.”

Kourtney Kardashian

The reality TV star has revealed that she hasn’t used a microwave since giving birth to her first child. She said, “When I had Mason, I did a lot of health-related research and decided to get rid of my microwave.” Kardashian added, “I read that toxins from plastic containers can be transferred to food when reheated.”

Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed

While pregnant, the actress revealed that she and her husband, actor Ian Somerhalder, are planning “one month of silence” after the baby is born. She explained, “We’ll take the baby’s first month for ourselves.” Reed added, “Just the three of us, no visitors, and we’re turning off our phones too, so there’s no expectation for us to communicate.”

Even though she admits to having a big sweet tooth herself, the Hollywood star would not allow her 3 kids to indulge in sweets. She explained, “You want sweets, ice cream, and cake to be a great treat and a celebration.” Therefore, Roberts’ kids have these treats only on special occasions. She added, “I think this makes them appreciate it when they do have it.”

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher

The 2 Hollywood actors sure have the means to spoil their 2 kids with lots of material things, yet they chose a totally different route. In fact, even for Christmas, Kunis revealed, “So far, our tradition is no presents for the kids.” And aside from getting zero gifts for their little ones, the stars also told their parents not to overindulge their grandchildren, asking them to only choose a single present to gift, otherwise, they’d donate the others to charity.

Alicia Silverstone

When her only son, Bear, was 10 months old, the actress posted a video showing her bird-feeding her child. This meant that she would chew the food in her own mouth, then place it in her child’s mouth. Silverstone defended her feeding style, saying to those who criticized her, “I do want to let you know that this has been going on for thousands of years [...] and it’s natural.”

She added, “My kid is healthy. My kid’s the happiest baby ever. He didn’t have teeth, and he would choke.”

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard

The actress, who has 2 daughters with her husband, actor Dax Shepard, revealed, “The girls sleep on the floor of our bedroom.” At the time, the 2 girls were 9 and 7 years old, and Bell explained that they slept on a “trifold mattress.” However, later that year, the actress gave an update on the situation, saying that the girls have “graduated” from sleeping on their floor.

What do you think of these parenting practices? Do you have any special restrictions that you make your kids follow?
