She had been married twice.

Abdul gained popularity in 1989, thanks to major hit songs such as Cold Hearted, Rush Rush and Straight Up. In 1991, she received a Grammy Award for best music video.

A year later, the star’s love life also bloomed as she tied the knot with actor Emilio Estevez. However, their relationship didn’t last that long, and the pair divorced two years later.

In 1995, the singer spoke candidly about her separation and described it as a devastating experience. She explained that she had a desire to have children, but Estevez was not keen on starting another family, as he already had two children from a prior relationship.

A couple of years after her divorce, Paula fell in love with Brad Beckerman, a sportswear manufacturer.
In 1996, the pair got married, but separated after 17 months. Their union didn’t result in kids either.

She didn’t give up on having kids after 40.

In 2007, Abdul, who was then 45-years-old and in a relationship with restaurateur J.T. Torregiani, who was 13 years her junior, disclosed her wish to have a child. She expressed her hope to conceive within the next two years and even admitted, “I thought by now I’d have three grown children.”

She even hinted at the possibility of using modern medical methods to conceive if necessary, saying, ’’With modern medicine, people are having kids in their 40s and even up until their late 40s. In their 50s, they’re having their second child.’’ The singer also stated that she would be open to adoption if she couldn’t have children naturally.

Sadly, the American Idol judge and J.T. ended their relationship before having children.

She showers her dogs with love and affection.

Now at 60, Abdul who didn’t become a mom, has an unwavering love for her dogs.

Unfortunately, she suffered a significant loss when she lost two dogs within the same week in March 2020. She shared the sad news on Instagram and wrote ’’A big piece of my heart is missing. So grateful to have been their Mommy and for all the unconditional love they gave me for all these years.’’

Heather Graham is another celebrity who didn’t have children, and her honesty about her decision to be child-free made us admire this actress even more.
