8 Awkward Movie Scenes Actors Would Love to Forget

It often looks like actors live in a dream. They meet interesting people, earn a lot of money, and are adored by many fans — what could possibly go wrong? But few people actually realize that actors often have to do unpleasant things that they’d rather not recall.

We at Bright Side have read about Hollywood stars’ awkward experiences and we definitely wouldn’t want to be in their shoes. And as you read this article, you’ll find out how Arnold Schwarzenegger forced Sylvester Stallone to agree to play a role he still regrets taking on.

1. George Clooney — Batman & Robin

The viewers didn’t really like George Clooney’s acting in Batman & Robin. They also mocked parts of his suit, like the ridiculous nipples, for example. The actor was so embarrassed that he apologized, many times, for what he did to the legacy of the character.

16 years later in an interview about the film Gravity, Clooney was asked which suit was more comfortable — the spacesuit or the Batman suit? And the actor said, “Let’s be honest: the spacesuit [in Gravity] was just uncomfortable for me; the Batsuit was uncomfortable for all of the world. Even little children didn’t like the movie. I still get criticized by the people who watched this movie when they were children. I had no idea they put the ridiculous nipples on the suit before the movie was on the screen.”

2. Jason Statham — Crank

Jason Statham admits that during the shooting of Crank, he had to drink a lot of energy drinks. It was already quite hard because Red Bull has a very powerful effect when you drink a lot of it. But the worst part, he said, was having to eat sweets with the drink. Every time he had an energy drink, he needed to eat a piece of chocolate or a lot of TicTacs with it.

3. Liam Hemsworth — The Hunger Games

In one of his interviews, Liam Hemsworth admitted that the most awkward thing to film in The Hunger Games were kissing scenes with the main character. He explained, "Jennifer Lawrence is one of my best friends, I love her. But if we had a kissing scene, she would make a point of eating garlic or tuna fish or something that was disgusting. Right before the scene, she’d be like, “Yeah, I ate tuna,” or “I had garlic, and I didn’t brush my teeth.” And I’d be like, “Fantastic, I can’t wait to get in there and taste it!”

4. Lily James — Cinderella

Lily James says that shooting the film in the small dress for Cinderella was a nightmare for her. The corset that made her waist look thin was so narrow that she could barely breathe. She was in a lot of pain because her chest was pressed down and she was burping all the time.

5. Leonardo DiCaprio — The Revenant

After he finally got his Oscar, Leonardo DiCaprio told journalists that during the production of The Revenant, he had to do a lot of really unpleasant things. He said that even though he knew what he agreed to, he would still prefer to never do certain things again. The worst situations were having to jump into a cold river, eat raw bison liver, and sleep inside a dead horse.

6. Ellen Burstyn — The Exorcist

One of the scenes during the production of The Exorcist still gives actress Ellen Burstyn the chills when she thinks about it. To make the movie more spectacular, the actress was tied and dragged on the floor until she screamed in pain. The director was satisfied with the realistic emotions Burstyn showed but she had to walk on crutches until the end of the shooting process.

7. Arnold Schwarzenegger — Batman & Robin

The Terminator was not the only robot character that Arnold Schwarzenegger portrayed. In 1997, in Batman & Robin, Schwarzenegger portrayed Mr. Freeze, Batman’s enemy. But Schwarzenegger doesn’t like talking about it because of an incident with the suit. When they were doing close-ups, the costume designers added diodes that were supposed to light the actor’s jaw. But they didn’t take one important thing into account: in this construction, saliva got onto the battery, reacted and started producing some kind of acid in Mr. Freeze’s mouth. Obviously, Schwarzenegger didn’t like it and said that he could taste something terrible in his mouth.

8. Margot Robbie — The Wolf of Wall Street

According to Margo Robbie in one of her interviews, shooting very explicit scenes on a pile of money is not a very fun thing to do. The actress said that after such a scene in The Wolf of Wall Street, she had a lot of cuts on her back. “Maybe real money is a bit softer, but the fake money is like paper and they can leave big scratches on the skin,” she explained.

Bonus: Sylvester Stallone and “the worst film in the entire solar system, including alien productions, we’ve never seen!”

After the stunning success of Rocky, Sylvester Stallone was starring in both drama and action films for some time until he decided to try himself at a comedic film. And it was far from the best experience of his life and he still is ashamed of it.

Why Stallone even got the role in Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot was because he was competing with Arnold Schwarzenegger. In order to beat his competitor, Stallone was first to sign the contract for the film. And later, he found out that the star of The Terminator spread the rumor that he was interested in the role to poke fun at his colleague. He already read the script and he wasn’t thrilled, to say the least.

Stallone himself described his work on Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot like this: “If you ever want someone to confess to murder, just make him or her sit through that film. They will confess to anything after 15 minutes!”

If you were an actor, what roles do you think you’d have the hardest time playing?

Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet’s enduring 23-year friendship stands as a testament to genuine bonds in Hollywood. Their camaraderie began on the set of “Titanic” in 1996, where DiCaprio supported Winslet through her self-esteem struggles. Their bond has only grown stronger over the years, with DiCaprio even walking Winslet down the aisle at her wedding in 2012.

I wonder why DiCaprio ate this raw meat? Instead of this, his producers could have used computer graphics..

I can't even imagine how difficult it is when actors have to kiss each other, especially with their friends...
