Jamie Lee Curtis Regrets About Plastic Surgery and Botox
Jamie Lee Curtis sends a powerful message to everyone about the damaging effects of body comments. During the production of the 1985 film Perfect, an incident occurred where a cameraman made a remark about Jamie Lee Curtis’s eyes, referring to them as “puffy.” This incident sheds light on the harmful consequences that such comments can have on an individual.
She did plastic surgery because of a judgment at work.
Jamie Lee Curtis faced an unfortunate encounter with a cameraman who passed judgment on her physical appearance. His comment about her eyes being “puffy” struck a chord with Curtis. “I did plastic surgery — it didn’t work, I hated it. It made me feel worse,” says the actress who advocates now for natural beauty.
“Personally, I felt it was humiliating. I would go into a hair salon, the smell of the chemicals, the feeling of that color on my hair, sitting under the hairdryer — it was like, for what?”
In 2002 Jamie confessed that she remembers a cameraman saying, “I can’t shoot her.” It affected her a lot.
Except for plastic surgery, she also decided to do some more modern beauty procedures: “I’ve had a little lipo. I’ve had a little Botox. And you know what? None of it works. None of it. It’s such a fraud. And I’m the one perpetuating it.”
She advocates for natural beauty now.
Curtis asks people to leave their natural faces and body because we wipe out generations of beauty. She is not afraid of aging and shows that nobody should be scared of it. It’s normal.
“And the term, anti-aging... What? What are you talking about? We’re all going to age! We’re all going to die? Why do you want to look 17 when you’re 70? I want to look 70 when I’m 70.”
By safeguarding and celebrating natural beauty, we honor our shared heritage and ensure a more sustainable and harmonious future for generations to come. The main things are to stay healthy physically and mentally.
