Celebrities are often seen as the epitome of beauty and perfection, but in reality, they are just like everyone else, with their own unique features that may not meet existing beauty standards. And many of the stars embrace these differences and use them to their advantage, setting a positive example for others to follow. Eventually, they inspire others to do the same and celebrate their individuality. Check out our article to see some great examples from celebs.

1. Katie Holmes

Actress Katie Holmes is known for maintaining a low-profile lifestyle but is still known to be very fashionable. The 42-year-old shared pictures on Instagram, showcasing her stylish presence in a beautiful black dress with straps and cut-outs that highlight her toned abs. Upon closer inspection, the pictures reveal her stretch marks, which she proudly displays.

2. Chrissy Teigen

Chrissy Teigen has been candid about her experience with stretch marks. In one of her interviews, she confessed that she is highly susceptible to them but chooses not to use any creams or treatments to remove them. She expressed disbelief that people purchase products with the promise of removing stretch marks, stating that she believes they cannot be fully erased. Instead, she has come to accept them and is “cool” with having them.

3. Ashley Graham

As a plus-size supermodel, Ashley Graham exudes confidence in her own skin and frequently posts unretouched images of her body. Her mission is to challenge conventional beauty standards and promote body positivity by embracing her real pictures without any filters. Stretch marks and cellulite are not something she shies away from showing, as she wants to encourage other women to feel confident in their skin.

4. Barbie Ferreira

Model and Euphoria star Barbie Ferreira is an inspiring example for all women who struggle with their body image. According to the actress, stretch marks are a common occurrence and a sign of growth and being human. Ferreira constantly displays her “tiger stripes” in Instagram posts, showcasing her beauty and rejecting society’s narrow definition of the perfect body. Her self-acceptance is refreshing, especially in an industry where many models aim for unrealistic thinness and perfection.

5. Selena Gomez

After having kidney transplant surgery, Selena Gomez showed off her scar in a photo of her wearing a swimsuit. Before this, Gomez was reluctant to show it, often covering the scar up with clothing.

However, in her caption, she wrote about her newfound confidence in embracing it. She wrote, “When I got my kidney transplant, I remember it being very difficult at first showing my scar. I didn’t want it to be in photos, so I wore things that would cover it up. Now, more than ever, I feel confident in who I am and what I went through...and I’m proud of that.”

6. Catherine Zeta-Jones

Catherine Zeta-Jonesscar on the front of her neck, which is the result of a tracheotomy she had to undergo as an infant, is often a source of concern for makeup artists. However, Zeta-Jones has expressed her desire to not hide the scar and recognizes its significance in her survival.

7. Kylie Jenner

Although for some people, scars on a visible part of the body present a problem, Kylie Jenner refers to hers as a “loyal friend.”

“I remember that I couldn’t get out, and I had to climb up to get over the gate. I fell, and the gate came down on top of me and cut my leg. It’s just a little scar now, but it reminds me of a funny childhood memory and how far I’ve come since then.” Kylie’s reflection on her scar highlights the importance of embracing one’s unique qualities.

8. Hilary Duff

When the media posted pics of Hilary Duff on vacation showing off her cellulite, the actress made it clear that there is no set definition for what a body, especially that of a mother, should look like. She posted the paparazzi picture on her Instagram and wrote, “I am posting this on behalf of young girls, women, and mothers of all ages. I’m enjoying a vacation with my son after a long season of shooting and being away from him for weeks at a time over those months. Since websites and magazines love to share ’celeb flaws’ - well, I have them!”

9. Drew Barrymore

For 47-year-old actress Drew Barrymore, having gray hair means embracing this “natural aspect of growing older.” In a recent essay, she shared how she is now letting her “natural” gray hair grow.

Drew wrote, “Now I’m a mom and in my mid-forties, I have the hair color I like — drama-free and more natural. It takes 30 minutes to do my base of grays. I only barely cover them, so that the follicles can still grab the light as it grows out. (Yes, your grays can double as highlights with the right tint!).” The actress has always been imaginative when it comes to beauty.

10. Karolina Kurkova

It may seem surprising, but model and Victoria’s Secret angel, Karolina Kurkova, doesn’t have a belly button, not even a small one. This recent discovery has sparked speculation about whether this is the result of a medical or cosmetic procedure. Although she has not publicly commented on her belly button-less state, she does not intend to hide it on the runway or in real life.

11. Queen Latifah

Queen Latifah just like Catherine Zeta-Jones is against airbrushing her scar. In 2015, the star requested that a magazine not edit the scar on her forehead when she appeared on the cover. The scar was the result of a childhood injury when she tripped over a phone cord.

Latifah wanted to embrace and accept this part of herself and wanted to inspire others who might have similar scars to do the same. She said: “It’s part of who I am, so I’d like it to be accepted as part of who I am. There are a lot of people reading those magazines, not unlike myself, who have some sort of scar too. I don’t think we should try to make everything look perfect.”
