Celebrity stories are always making front-page news. But what we may not always hear about are the celebrities who have gone above and beyond for people and charities. They’ve opened their hearts for a greater cause.

Bright Side’s faith in humanity has been restored after hearing about these generous celebrities providing help to those who need it.

1. Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp has played lots of iconic roles. His character Jack Sparrow, from Pirates of the Caribbean, is adored by many children. Depp revealed he travels with Jack’s costume all the time, so he can make quick stops to visit children’s hospitals.

During one of his visits to a hospital in Vancouver, the actor didn’t break the character once for five hours. A spokeswoman from the hospital said that he took the time to engage with them and make them laugh.

2. Kim Kardashian

For her 35th birthday, Kim Kardashian flew her fans to LA to have brunch at the Four Seasons. Kim tweeted about the event saying, “I just had the best brunch today I flew out every fan I follow on social media to celebrate my birthday!!!”

3. Lady Gaga

“I sat down with her and had someone take a picture of us. I complimented her on her show, but I was overall super nervous and flustered. 7. Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively

This celebrity couple has donated to lots of charities over the years. They donated $1 million dollars to Feeding America and Food Banks Canada. They have also donated to a charity for sufferers of stillbirth, that supports the family. They donated $1 million to the American Civil Liberties Union and NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund.

8. Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift gave $10,000 to her fan to help pay for her medical bills. Her 16-year-old fan, Trinity Foster, was diagnosed with cancer.

She left a comment on her GoFundMe page saying “I saw photos of your album release party that you did in your hospital room and wanted to say thank you for being so kind and supportive! I hope I can give you a hug in person soon, but in the meantime, I wanted to send you this and all my love. Your friend, Taylor.”

9. Ryan Gosling

At the time, she was doing press for her movie Friends With Benefits with co-star Justin Timberlake. Justin saw the message and passed it on to Mila, who agreed to go.
