We have all heard the common phrase that women’s friendships don’t exist. But time and again, life proves that this is complete nonsense. Sometimes, the support between women is so strong and timely that it literally saves lives and radically changes fates.

  • A few years ago, I found myself in a difficult situation. At work, they stopped taking my opinion into account, criticized me for mistakes. The last straw was the terrible work schedule, which they refused to change. In frustration, I quit, with no savings and a rented apartment. I couldn’t find a new job. I had no money to pay rent, and I was jobless. I didn’t have friends either. I remember standing in a store and crying. A girl came up to me and asked what happened. I broke down and told her everything. She comforted me, bought a whole bag of groceries. Lent me money for a month’s rent. Helped me find a job. She would visit, cheer me up, give me little gifts, compliment me, encourage me. I found a good job, even took out a mortgage! I’m friends with that girl now. I just can’t believe a stranger helped me just like that. I, of course, paid her back the rent money and gave her gifts and helped as well. But at that moment, her care was so important to me, and I received it just in time. I was always a skeptic, but now I believe in kindness. © Overheard / Ideer
  • Once, I had a severe fight with the crazy landlady of the apartment I was renting. At that point, it had only been a week since I paid rent. I was young, with no money to rent a new place on the spot. It was unclear where to spend the night. I took my things to work. I didn’t know what to do. A girl I had met only once invited me to stay with her. I thought it was just for a couple of days, but on the second day, she asked surprised, “When are you moving your stuff over?” It turned out she wanted to actually house me. Now she is one of my closest friends. © _svetochey
  • I bought perfume for a girl who had birthday. She was expecting this gift from her boyfriend. On her day, he bought himself a hoodie, and a cupcake with a single candle to her. I witnessed this situation myself. I took her hand and led her to the perfume store. We never saw each other again and didn’t become friends. © polna_lyubwi
  • Once, when I was still a student, one of my classmates had her phone and money stolen on the bus (both hers and the money she had earned from selling theater tickets that she was supposed to take to the cashier). We all gasped, sympathized, and that was it. Some time later, I told this story to my mother, and she replied that in her days, in such cases, everyone would pitch in and help their classmate out of the situation. I felt so ashamed, because it hadn't even occurred to me or the others to do the same! © Overheard / Ideer
  • I fainted on the street. Upon waking up in the hospital, I learned that a girl at the bus stop called an ambulance and paid for everything. When I asked where she was now, they answered, "She went to bring you some food." © aiko. taalaibek
  • I went to a shop, standing with my items in a small, grumpy line. The scanner beeps, I hear, "Need a bag?" from time to time. I greet the cashier, she rings everything up, I thank her and wish her a good day. The lady at the register perked up a bit, "Miss, may I give you some flowers?" It turned out the tulips that had been for sale for the holiday were written off, and she offered me to take a few bouquets. I didn't refuse, showing my gratitude with a chocolate bar. It seems like a small thing, but there was a little more kindness in the world. © Overheard / Ideer
  • It happened last year at the airport. I arrived 3 hours early, thinking I had plenty of time. But no, the line for check-in stretched all the way to the street. In line with me was a girl who was on the same flight. We instantly bonded! While one of us watched the bags, the other dashed for information or to the restroom. After check-in, we rushed to security. I grabbed her items from the tray, handed her a shoe, and she tossed her backpack on me as we ran. We sprinted to the gate like maniacs... and the flight was delayed by 45 minutes! But we made it! Standing there, panting like exhausted horses, dripping with sweat, we jumped with joy and hugged for about 15 minutes. Then I ran for food while she watched our belongings. We never learned each other’s names, but for that hour, we became best friends, ready to lend each other a shoulder. © warda8825 / Reddit
  • I just had 4 very qualified women friends apply for the same management position (at the male-dominated company where we all met), and any time I discussed the situation with any of them alone they were nothing but supportive and hopeful for their competitors. “As long as one of us gets it, I’ll be thrilled.” © Illustrious-Anybody2 / Reddit
  • I found myself in a big city without money, having mixed up the train stations. At that time, there was no Internet or bank cards. I sat there, crying and not knowing what to do. I needed to get back home. Then a girl came up and asked what happened. She invited me home, fed me. We slept on a couch together — her sister with a child also lived in the apartment. In the morning, they bought me a new ticket, and I left safely. Julia, thank you! © daria_moguchaya
  • I was tired of the indifference of people around me to the extent that when a stranger offered me a handkerchief on the bus, seeing my cold, and on another day a woman helped me take off a jacket which I was trying to remove with one hand in a crowd, I started crying involuntarily. • I had a boyfriend. We didn’t date for long. And then we were alone together for the first time. In the end, we talked all night about his ex. I had no jealousy, only interest and female solidarity. In the end, I was so moved by the story of their relationship that I made them reconcile. Now they have been happily married for 2 years. It was the best night of my life. I saved love. © Overheard / Ideer
  • My girlfriend and I often went to an interesting café. She became friends with the administrator (a girl), and when we came, we were always pompously welcomed. We were treated to new items on the house, etc. Then I went to this place with someone else. The administrator was giving me funny looks, and the service was demonstratively dreadful. A cold burger and other things. Evidently, female solidarity kicked in. And it would all be fine, but I didn’t cheat on anyone, I just decided to meet up with my sister, whom I hadn’t seen for several years, and show her this place. © Overheard / Ideer
  • When I boarded the train, I didn’t know there was no dining car. And I didn’t have any food with me at all. The only thing available was cookies from the conductor. In the end, the girls from my compartment and the old ladies from the neighboring one fed me! At the nearest station, I bought berries and fruit, and we all had a little feast together! © shturm7777777
  • Once, at the store checkout, I didn’t have enough money for all my groceries. So I asked to set some aside to pay for the rest. The girl who was behind me paid for what I couldn’t buy and then ran after me to hand them over. It was pleasant and unexpected! © tangerine. margo
  • My husband and I were at a bookstore. I was begging him to buy me a book. In the end, he didn’t buy the book — we bargained down to a pretty notebook. A girl overheard the conversation. She came up and suddenly handed me the book I wanted. It was simply incredible. And the husband is now an ex. © tanechkalt
  • I was driving away from the hypermarket parking lot. I should mention that it had been snowing all night and morning, creating huge snowdrifts. I saw an elderly woman trying to climb over the snowdrifts along the edge of the parking lot, and it wasn’t clear where she was heading, as there were only more snowdrifts. I stopped, picked her up, and drove her to her destination. It turned out she had poor vision, especially when everything around was so white. I’m glad I noticed her. I hope someone will help my mom if she ever needs it. © Overheard / Ideer
  • I let a girl, my follower, stay in my vacant apartment for 6 months. Her house had burned down, and she had nowhere to live. She was pregnant, with a 3-year-old child. The entire residential complex, led by the women, helped gather things for her to prepare for childbirth! They brought clothes, food. On Christmas Eve, they even brought a Christmas tree, and it was all done by the women! © senator. julia
  • Just a month ago, I drove off the highway because the “skirt” of my car came loose and was scraping against the asphalt. I was standing by a construction store for about half an hour, waiting for a friend to come. 2 men approached, asked what the problem was, and then left. A completely strange woman parked nearby. After learning what happened, she got out of her car, took a box with various tools from her trunk, lay down on the wet and dirty asphalt in her clothes, and fixed my car. The woman said her father owns an auto repair shop, and she spent a lot of time there as a child, so learned a lot. © tasha_lawrens

And these photos prove that women are just wonderful.
