21 People Showed Off Family Relics They Have Kept for Decades

year ago

Many of us have a couple of things that remind us of our grandmothers or even great-grandmothers. Rings, books, notes, and many other things. But few people have quilts that belonged to their great-great-great-great-great-grandmothers or a dress that was made by their relative in the 19th century.

We at Bright Side had a lot of fun looking at the family relics of people who really value their past.

1. “To celebrate our 50th anniversary, my wife & I recreated our wedding pic. She’s wearing the same dress.”

2. “Me playing with it in the late ’80s and my 4 y/o son still enjoying it today. It’s almost 35 years old.”

3. “I still have a cup I made in first grade, 45 years ago today.”

4. “My great-great-great-great-great-grandmother made this quilt and we’ve been using it ever since.”

5. “My grandmother made this for my great-great-grandparents 58 years ago. It has hung in their house, my great-grandparents’ house, my grandparents, and now it hangs in my first house!”

6. “The terrarium my grandmother made in 1969-1970-ish”

7. “Dress my grandmother designed in 1959 for her 20th wedding anniversary. I wore it yesterday on her 100th birthday!”

10. “The 1950s Piaget bequeathed by my grandmother”

11. “My grandma passed away in March. One of the few things I have of hers is this ceramic Christmas tree. It was made by her grandmother.”
