Controversial Babysitter Ad Sparks Viral Outrage

Tammy faced criticism for her extensive list of requirements when searching for a babysitter. She intended to offer a payment of only $6 per hour for the job.

Tammy received widespread backlash for what many considered unreasonable demands she posted for a potential babysitter. Thousands of people called her “pathetic” and “cheap.”

She urgently needed childcare for her four children and decided to advertise the position locally with a meager wage of $6 per hour, alongside a list of preferred qualifications.

Tammy’s advertisement was heavily criticized for requesting applicants to have a Master’s degree, abstain from using social media, and refrain from having tattoos or piercings. Furthermore, she expected the babysitter to handle cooking, child care, cleaning, and running errands for the family in their personal time.

The ad shocked many, and people expressed their outrage over the demanding nature of the requirements:

  • “She wants a maid, a nanny and a chef.” Thomesa Broadnax / TikTok
  • “With these qualifications, they should pay at least $1000.” pip / TikTok
  • “What person in their right mind goes through stress and tears to get their master’s degree and is able to get a good paying job just to get paid $6 an hour.” ⛓ / TikTok

Undoubtedly, taking care of children takes a lot of work. In fact, stay-at-home moms should even add this title to their resumes. But such jobs should be paid fairly, so both sides end up happy.
