The fascinating reason why your wedding ring is worn on your third finger

Curiosities
year ago

Since the times of ancient Egypt, people have worn wedding rings on the third finger of their hand. Today, in some countries it’s worn on the left hand, in others on the right. But why is it always on the third finger in particular?

We at Bright Side have finally found the explanation!

Put your hands together like this

Your thumbs are your parents.

Your index fingers are your brothers and sisters.

Your middle fingers are you.

Your ring finger is your partner.

Your pinkies are your children.

Now, repeat after us:

This is because partners are meant to be together from the moment of marriage for their rest of their lives. It seems nature is trying to send us a signal: love and be loved!
