10 Guinness World Records That Might Leave You Totally Speechless

The Guinness World Records first began in 1955. At first, it was a book that listed a selection of the world’s records. But over the decades, the idea became so popular that they even released their own TV series where people’s attempts to break records are filmed and then broadcast around the globe.

1. Elaine Davidson

Elaine Davidson got her first piercing in January 1997. And as of June 8, 2006, she has been pierced a total of 4,225 times. Now she’s the most pierced woman in the world.

2. Chris “The Dutchess” Walton

Christine Walton holds the world’s record for the longest fingernails on a pair of female hands. The fingernails on her left hand are 10 feet and 2 inches long (309.8 cm), and on the right, 19 feet and 9 inches (601.9 cm) long. She’s now 45 years old and claims that she hasn’t cut her fingernails since 1990.

3. Devendra Suthar

Suthar was born with a condition called polydactylism. That’s why he has more fingers than anyone else in the world. There are 7 fingers on each hand and 7 toes on each foot. But he says that extra fingers don’t affect his work as a carpenter, but he has to wear specially made shoes.

4. You Jianxia

You Jianxia’s eyelashes are so long, she keeps them out of the way by tucking them behind her ears. The longest eyelash is 20.5 cm (8.0 in) long, and they continue to grow.

5. John Evans

John Evans balanced a mini car on his head on May 24, 1999. The car weighed a total of 352 lb (159.6 kg), and he held it for 33 seconds. He also held 101 bricks that weighed 416 lb (188.7 kg) for 10 seconds in 1997, and 96 milk crates in 2001.

6. Chad Fell

Chad Fell blew a bubblegum bubble with a diameter of 20 inches (50.8 cm). He didn’t use his hands and shared the secret of his success in the end. He was able to blow this bubble with just 3 pieces of Dubble Bubble Gum in his mouth.

7. Joel Strasser

Joel Strasser is famous for putting different objects in his beard. In 2018, he put 3,500 toothpicks in it, which took him 3 hours and 13 minutes. In other attempts, he was putting paper straws, baubles, pencils, and forks in there, all successfully enough to make another world record.

8. Mochi “Mo” Rickert

This St. Bernard doggo entered the record books with the world’s longest tongue. Officially, a vet measured it at 7.3 in (18.58 cm). For comparison, that’s 2 and a half Jenga blocks in a row.

9. The world’s widest wig

The wig is 7 feet and 4 inches (2.23 m) wide and 5 feet and 3 inches (1.6 m) high. It was made by Kelly Hanson and Randy Carfagno Productions LLC and was worn by Drew Barrymore on the set of The Tonight Show4 people helped Barrymore place the wig on her head.

10. Jyoti Kisanji Amge

There are some truly extraordinary individuals in the Guinness World Records, and Jyoti Kisanji Amge is one of them. Born in 1993, she’s just 2 feet (61.95 cm) tall and weighs 12 lb (5.4 kg). She became the shortest living female teenager in the whole world. And then she went on to take the title of the Shortest Living Woman.
