I've seen a few times where people say that Facilier was based on MJ, but that's not true. Go back and watch Cab Calloway and his dancers dancing and you'll find that they were the basis for him.

If I remember correctly, not only was Ursula based on Divine, but Divine was also set to voice the character as well but passed away just prior to recording.
