When translators are making an adaptation of a movie for another country they often make a lot of mistakes, take a lot of liberties, and sometimes even spoil the plot! It happens because translators try to express the plot of the movie in its name so that viewers know what the movie is about before they watch it. But not all translations are successful: there are many examples of adaptations that just seem absurd.

"Die Hard" (and its sequels) are translated as "Strong Nut", not "Tough Guy" as this article states.

I don't know where you get those information on, but for Pretty Woman, the Hong Kong title is still quite elegant, 風月俏佳人, certainly not marry a prostitute and save money. As for Leon (the professional), the Hong Kong title translates as 'This assassin is not so cold (blooded)'.
