A lot of new things are just old things we’ve forgotten about. And stars agree with this since they often use the looks of their colleagues or movie characters to don on red carpets. Some people do this with a certain message, and others don’t even know they actually repeated someone’s famous outfit.

We at Bright Side love looking at the amazing clothes of stars, and here are 15 celebrities whose outfits seemed very familiar.

Bianca Jagger (1977) and Kaia Gerber (2021)

The 20-year-old model was wearing a dress at the Met Gala that was similar to the dress of Bianca Jagger. Jagger wore it back in 1977, and Gerber wore it 44 years later.

Anna Nicole Smith (1994) and Khloe Kardashian (2019)

Kardashian tried the look of the iconic blonde from the ’90s. Her Instagram post had a lot of very nice comments from fans.

Hedy Lamarr (1941) and Emily Blunt (2021)

The headdress Blunt wore at the Met Gala reminded us of the diadem Lamarr wore in Ziegfeld Girl. But Blunt made the headdress simpler and added other accessories.

Angelina Jolie (2018) and Charlize Theron (2020)

Jolie loves elegant dresses that show off her legs. In 2020, at the Oscars, Charlize Theron had a similar dress on.

Naomi Campbell (1999) and Dua Lipa (2021)

In 2021, the singer appeared in a dress that was very reminiscent of the Versace dress Campbell wore 22 years ago. It had the same shiny fabric and the same butterflies.

Kate Moss (2012) and Sienna Miller (2013)

Cher (2004) and Jennifer Lopez (2019)

It’s quite possible that Jennifer Lopez’s stylists were inspired by Cher when they made this outfit. Cher was famous for her love of wigs and wore such models at the end of the ’70s. It’s interesting that Kim Kardashian appeared in a similar outfit right after Lopez did.

Anna May Wong (1934) and Gemma Chan (2021)

The English actress used Anna May Wong’s look from almost 90 years ago. Chan decided to honor the actress who became popular in Hollywood.

Audrey Hepburn (1964) and Kendall Jenner (2021)

Kendall Jenner’s look was definitely inspired by Audrey Hepburn’s character from My Fair Lady. Even the makeup artists tried to create a similar makeup scheme, just a bit more modern.

Rihanna (2012) and Rita Ora (2014)

Ariana Grande (2018) and Kourtney Kardashian (2019)

Kourtney Kardashian and Ariana Grande are friends, and 3 years ago, Kardashian even tried the singer’s look and shared photos on her account.

Alicia Silverstone (Clueless, 1995) and Irina Shayk (2021)

The model loves showy looks, even for a simple walk down the street. So, in spring, Shayk was seen wearing a plaid suit that looked like the iconic outfit Alicia Silverstone wore in Clueless.

Cher (1973) and Lourdes Leon (2021)

Madonna’s edgy daughter was inspired by Cher and she also shocked the public. In the ’70s, the singer loved eastern-influenced clothes and often appeared dressed in them at public events.

Marilyn Monroe (1953) and Billie Eilish (2021)

The singer made a splash at the Met Gala. She chose a dress and hairstyle in the classic Hollywood style of the legendary Marilyn Monroe. Interestingly, Eilish made an unusual deal with designer Oscar de la Renta: she agreed to wear the dress of the brand if the company would stop using fur forever.

Jessica Rabbit (Who Framed Roger Rabbit, 1988) and Gigi Hadid (2021)

Gigi Hadid amazed everyone at the Met Gala with her red hair. She chose the style of the glamourous ’60s, but many people saw a reference to the cartoon character, Jessica Rabbit.

Do you think that celebrities create their dresses inspired by the past? Or are all of these examples just coincidences?

Angelina Jolie’s unique parenting rules, which include encouraging individuality and fostering a love for learning, have been praised for their progressive approach.
