13 Hacks to Save You From Awkward Situations That All of Us Have Been In Before
What do you think of when you hear “awkward situation?” Is it something like this? But awkwardness is not only a long pause in an uncomfortable dialogue or an inappropriate laugh. Many of us know that an unpleasant surprise can happen at any moment and sometimes it’s even worse than we could imagine!
1. Greasy hair
When there is no time to wash your hair and it’s greasy, ordinary paper towels can come to the rescue. Blot the grease at the roots with the towels. After that, tousle your hair. It will look fresh.
2. Zipper problems
When the zipper on your clothes gets unexpectedly stuck, you can use an ordinary pencil. Rub both sides of the zipper with the pencil lead and then gently pull it. Chapstick is also suitable for zipper repairing.
3. Chest sweat
If you notice that your chest area produces quite a bit of sweat when it’s warm outside, you can use panty liners to avoid unpleasant stains on your clothes. Simply put them in your bra and they will absorb the sweat.
4. Leggings trouble
If leggings emphasize your figure’s flaws, there’s still a way to wear them. Take old pantyhose and cut them so that they turn into shorts. Wear them underneath the leggings to make your tights appear more toned.
5. Ink stains
The ink from your pen leaked out and left a stain on your clothes? The usual antibacterial hand gel will help you. Put a cloth or paper towel under the stain to soak in the ink, squeeze out a bit of the sanitizer on the stain and rub it with a napkin or a cotton pad. Then wash the area.
6. Fresh breath
If you need to refresh your breath quickly and there is no toothbrush at hand, you can chew coffee beans. It will remove the unpleasant odor and its solid texture will help clean the tongue from plaque, which contains a lot of bacteria.
7. Wet shoes
You can dry your wet shoes using cat litter. Fill up some pantyhose with cat litter, tie it up, and put it in your shoes overnight. It will absorb all the moisture. It will also be helpful to pour sodium bicarbonate into your shoes to prevent the development of bacteria that can lead to unpleasant smells.
8. Yellow teeth
Use bananas to make your smile white. Rub your teeth with the inner side of the banana peel and wait for 10-15 minutes. Then remove it with a toothbrush and rinse your mouth. This procedure will help whiten your teeth gently.
9. Slippery shoes
You can use sandpaper if your shoes slip. Rub the soles in a circular motion. Then rub from the heel to the toe. Don’t press too hard. You can also use hot glue.
10. Potatoes against sweat stains
You can use potatoes to reduce the risk of sweat stains under the armpits. Cut fresh potatoes and wipe under your arms. Wait until it soaks in and then wash the skin with water.
11. Skirt riding up
Want to put on a skirt that constantly rides up? No problem! Use hairspray to hold it in place. Simply splash it on your thighs and the skirt will not ride up.
12. Chewing gum on clothes
If gum is stuck on your clothes, you can use duct tape. Stick a strip of the tape to the chewing gum and tear it off. Repeat this several times.
13. Stuck ring
When you cannot remove a ring from your finger, just raise your hand. Hold it like this for a couple of minutes. The blood will rush from the hand down toward the shoulder and you can remove the ring.
