13 Shocking Ways People Found Out They Were Being Cheated On

Life dramas come from many scenarios. In a relationship, one of the spices of these so-called dramas is cheating. It is a shocking, painful, and heartbreaking experience that no one deserves to be in.

Unfortunately, these people have experienced or witnessed it. Dive into how these people found out about cheating.

  • I have two daughters, one is from my husband’s first marriage. I was having a dinner date with my girls and noticed that my stepdaughter kept looking at her phone. I told her that whoever it is, if it’s urgent, she can excuse herself. She said it was her Dad, so she went out to call him.
The next day, when I was cleaning the house, I saw her phone open and was about to call her when I noticed the messages that were left open. I was speechless when I found out that it was her convo with her Dad, who was with his ex-wife that night. So he was cheating with his ex-wife for the past year, and my stepdaughter was in cahoots with all of this.
  • She needed a new phone, so I put it in my name, since I was working. 2 hours after leaving the store and having lunch with me joking about how excited she was to get married, I found a photoreel full of pictures she had been exchanging with her ex whilst transferring her stuff to her new phone. I put 2 and 2 together and opened her text inbox, and surprise! She had been texting him for months and was with him for a few weeks. © Unknown author / Reddit
  • When I was 17-18, I finished work and got the bus home, sitting next to this girl around my age. She commented on my uniform and said her boyfriend worked at the same place. I asked who, and she said the name of my boyfriend. © FartleBarfle / Reddit
  • My cat slipped out one night and didn’t come back for two days. I asked my neighbor if I could check their security cam since it faces the street. They said, “Sure.”
While scrubbing through the footage, I saw my boyfriend step outside around 11 PM. I was already asleep. He was shaking a bag of treats, calling for my cat. It actually made me smile.
But then, he looked around, crossed the street, and to my shock, he walked into our neighbor’s house. He didn’t knock. Didn’t text. Just walked in like it was normal. He was there for over an hour.
I confronted him, and he admitted it. I dumped him, but I found my cat the next morning, though.
  • My wife tried calling and didn’t hang up once it went to voicemail. She accidentally left a 2:45 VM. The VM consisted of her and her BF talking badly about me and how much happier she was with him.
At the time, I was home with our kids, and I thought she was 1,800 miles away to be with her dying father. Two years later, we are divorced, and her father is still alive. © NorthMahkato / Reddit
  • My first day at a new job, my manager was training me on the till, and a customer came up to pay. I knew the customer, and he proceeded to ask how I am, I said good, and he said, ‘I’m glad you’re keeping okay after everything’ and I said, ‘everything?’
And he said, ‘Well after the break-up, I was shocked to be honest, but I guess everything happens for a reason.’ I told him he was mistaken, as we were still very much together. Confused, he asked if we had taken a break or something.
That’s when I found out, on my first day at my new job, in front of my new manager, that my boyfriend of 5 years was cheating on me. My manager quickly said, “Would you like to take a short break?” lol. © Unknown author / Reddit
  • Together for 10 years, married for 4. I was madly in love until I got a message from an unknown account on Instagram informing me that he had been cheating for several years. Our marriage pretty much ended the next day. Later found out that there were several affairs, before and after marriage. © throwaway97319 / Reddit
  • I counted the pictures. This was in 2000, before everyone had a camera on their phone, and you had to get your holiday snaps developed at the Walgreens photo lab. She brought home the pictures of her vacation to see her “old high school friend” in Vegas, but there was something missing.
See, back in the day, the rolls of film were made up of exposures of 12, 24, 36 pics, etc., depending on the film you bought. I went through the photos, and it didn’t add up. Literally. The 24-exposure roll only had 18 pics. Eventually, I found the remaining photos...her and the new boyfriend looking happy. © gogojack / Reddit
  • I worked for a phone company and had access to the billing system, so I could look up any client and see incoming/outgoing calls. One weekend, a colleague and I decided to look up people we know. There were about 12 hours of talk time per week, back and forth between this one number and my BF. Did a reverse search, found out it was a landline in the chick’s dad’s name. Researched the dude and found he had 2 daughters, so obviously thought it was the older of the 2 because she was our age (27 at the time). But nope, he was talking and cheating with the 19-year-old that he met at a call center job he kept for less than 2 weeks. The weird thing is, my colleague also found out her BF was cheating that same night. © Booyou79 / Reddit
  • My wife cheated on me and flat-out told me there was someone else. I always ask anyone I am seeing to be honest, no matter how much it hurts. I am glad she told me. I would have hated to find out another way.
We split up because that is something I will never forgive. She and I have a beautiful daughter who is now 11, and our daughter is our priority. We have both moved on, but her being honest made it easier to move on. © trublud0dger / Reddit
  • He said he didn’t have a Facebook account, but one day I saw that he had the app on his phone... so I searched him up, and a little stalking later, found out that his name wasn’t Sam, that was the dog’s name. He had a wife, and the “family vacation” he had gone on a few months back was actually his wedding. I was definitely the side chick.
The confrontation was...unpleasant. We’d been together for almost two years, and looking back from where I am now, I realize he’d always been a manipulative, toxic partner. But I didn’t want to see it for what it was. I eventually left him, but some days I’m not sure I’m over him. That relationship broke me. © pm_happiness_please / Reddit
  • Before we started dating, I’d bought tickets to an event. Found out he also had tickets for the same event. We both had already said we were taking a friend along, with it being arranged before we got together. We all went together in the same taxi.
He sat up towards the back of the venue in a different block. Texting me throughout. The arena camera was floating around during the interval and occasionally putting people up on the big screen, at one point it showed him passionately kissing his “friend”. My friend took a picture.
I was fuming, so I texted him that we’re done. He denied it. It must have been so passionate that he hadn’t even known the camera was on him, so my friend sent him the picture. We got out of the venue first, took the taxi home, left them there. © dinkidoo7693 / Reddit
  • A friend of mine would let her boyfriend use her car, as he was jobless and couldn’t afford one. He’s borrowed it one day to go help his dad take some stuff to the tip, and she’s caught the bus into town. As she’s on the bus, she looks out the window and sees her car driving past her the other way.
Only her boyfriend isn’t driving, he isn’t even in the car; it’s a woman driving it. She instantly rings her boyfriend, who doesn’t answer, so she rings the police and reports her car stolen and says she’s just seen it driving past her.
It turns out the boyfriend was cheating and was letting this other woman use her car! She had been to McDonald’s to fetch them some food while he sat at her house waiting! (Please ignore my username, I don’t actually cheat.) © Ukcheatingwife / Reddit
