15 Parents Shared Why They Will Never Pierce Their Babies’ Ears

Some parents pierce their baby’s ears because they believe it takes much longer to heal as they get older. Others, on the contrary, are convinced you have to respect your child’s privacy at any age, and piercing their ears without their consent is unethical. While tiny earrings may look cute, they aren’t safe for the baby, and they can cause them to hurt themselves during play or can even choke on them.

Here at Bright Side, we gathered opinions shared by people who feel very strongly about piercing a baby’s ears.

I pierced my daughters ears at 2 mth old and was irresponsible at the time but didn’t see it then but luckily she’s happy I did bc she doesn’t remember the pain. There’s still a part of me that knows I shouldn’t of done it though. I’m a gran of 3 now and wouldn’t dream of doing the same to them.
