The love will save the world ❤️
18 Times We Wanted to Say “We’re Not Crying, Someone’s Chopping Onions”
We’re reading a soul-stirring story or looking at an image when BAM — we feel all gooey and our eyes get watery. Onions and their tear-jerking powers have been taking the blame for years — when we are deeply touched by something, but don’t want to show our feelings. Emotion is what makes us human and allows us to be able to be moved by someone’s story. That’s a superpower in and of its own.
On that note, Bright Side wants to show you a few moments from people’s lives that made our hearts all fuzzy and reminded us that love can be shown in a million and one ways.
1. “Saw this in a cab:”
The note says, “Dear daddy, thank you for working so hard for us. I love you a lot. Love, Resi.”
2. “My mother watched every single one of Marvel’s movies with me, but passed away in January this year.”
“So, I’m here to bring her ‘eyes’ to watch the new Dr. Strange movie!”
3. “For Christmas, my wife got a recording from Christmas 1973, the last year her grandmother was alive before she passed.”
“My wife wasn’t born until 1976. This is the first time she has ever heard her grandmother’s voice.”
4. “My dad never cooks breakfast for me, but when he does...”
5. “My daughter found a fossil in our yard and wrapped it for me as a Christmas present!”
6. “Made the shirt for my stepdaughter for her first Jonas Brothers concert. She’s kept it for 12 years!!”
7. “Proud of my daughter. 10 days before her wedding. Became a bone marrow match. Doing a blood stem cell donation for a leukemia patient.”
8. “I welcomed my son into the world today. Last year saw a failed career change and the sudden passing of my father. I can’t stop crying.”
9. “Regular customer caught me crying last week, came in today and gave me this:”
10. “I love pistachios, but I hate cleaning them. My wife who is going to go for a C-section tomorrow cleaned many, many pistachios for me.”
“’We won’t be able to see each other for the next 4 days, but you can think of me every time you eat one,’ she said. Made me cry.”
11. “My grandma and I share the same birthday. We haven’t seen each other in 6 years. I flew in and surprised her.”
12. “Thought it would be cool to strap a camera to my chest and swing my nieces and nephew around. I think I was right.”
13. “My grandma sends me fruit in the mail because I’m pregnant. Today it’s strawberries!”
14. “My son is almost 3 and almost completely nonverbal.”
“Today he drank from an open cup BY HIMSELF for the first time ever and started asking for ’momma/mommy’ when he couldn’t see me from the living room. I’m so happy, I cried.”
15. “So proud of my 12-year-old son who started walking the neighbor’s dog at 7 AM for $5, and just handed me his first hundy to deposit.”
The note says, “Can you put this in the bank while I’m gone?”
16. “A friend of mine gets reunited with her dog after a month of being away overseas. I think he missed her.”
17. “My son and his kitten after her first vet visit. She cried endlessly until we let her out of the carrier.”
