Many directors love using little details to send secret messages to viewers. These details are referred to as “easter eggs” and finding them in movies is a great pleasure for many movie fans. Thanks to such attentive people, we can tell you which Aladdin character (1992) appeared in Moana (2016), or which ancient item was used as a futuristic-looking tablet in Blade Runner.

1. Zootopia (2016)

In the cartoon, there is a scene where viewers can see a map with photos on it. In the photo on the right part of the map, there is a sad wolf that sits in the park and eats a sandwich. This is a parody of a popular photo of Keanu Reeves.

2. Jaws (1975) and Deep Blue Sea (1999)

At the beginning of the film, Deep Blue Sea, one of the characters throws a license plate on the pier with the same symbols on it as the license plate from Jaws.

3. Cars (2006)

The canyons in this cartoon were made in the shape of retro cars: the hood, the wings, and more.

4. How to Train Your Dragon (2010)

The character Toothless was animated based on the movements of the cat of one of the animators.

5. The Pursuit of Happyness (2006)

At the end of this biopic, Christopher Gardner, who is portrayed by Will Smith, walks past the real Christopher Gardner who the movie is based on.

6. The Matrix (1999)

In the scene where Neo comes up to the door, you can see the camera in the polished doorknob that appeared next to the coat and tie. The tie was positioned so that the viewers had the impression it was part of Morpheus’ tie.

7. Gladiator (2000)

In one of the scenes, you can see a guy wearing jeans. He was just walking on the set. But when he saw the camera, he realized his mistake and started moving back. This moment is so obvious in the movie, we couldn’t help but laugh.

8. Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs (2009)

In this cartoon, there is a scene when pies fall from the sky and hit the presidents’ faces on Mount Rushmore. Abraham Lincoln was the only one who didn’t get a pie on his face. He got one on the back of his head — the same way he was murdered. Not with a pie but with a gun, of course.

9. The Godfather (1972)

In most scenes of this film, prior to someone’s death, you can see oranges. So, these bright fruits are the harbingers of death in this movie.

10. Up (2009)

If you look closely, all the things that belong to Carl are rectangular and the ones that belong to Ellie are round-shaped.

11. Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)

In the physics classroom, there is a wall with portraits of scientists. Among them, there is one of Bruce Banner, a famous scientist in nuclear physics and gamma rays in the Marvel Universe. He can also transform into Hulk.

12. Moana (2016)

In one of the scenes in Moana, the inhabitants put down a carpet with the same pattern on it as the magic carpet from Aladdin.

13. Coco (2017)

In one of the scenes where Miguel is already in the world of the dead, you can see a poster on the wall for The Incredibles. And the members of the family are also skeletons there.

14. Jurassic World (2015)

In one of the scenes, you can see a T-shirt in the background with aT-Rex and the words “I’m back.”

15. Blade Runner 2049 (2017)

In Blade Runner 2049, the tablet Ryan Gosling uses early in the movie is actually a plate holder from a 1920s-era camera.

16. The LEGO Movie (2014)

In the cartoon, the astronaut has a crack on the lower part of his helmet. He tried to fix it with glue. This was the real problem with LEGO toys that had a helmet. Children had to use glue to fix it.

17. Moana (2016)

One of the Kakamora pirate gang members has the same look as Baymax from Big Hero 6.

18. Monsters vs. Aliens (2009)

The general has a Shrek-shaped badge on his chest.

19. Frozen (2013)

In Frozen, the editors made a mistake that you can clearly see if you pause the video at the right moment. Kristoff’s finger disappears inside Anna’s side as if it were a computer game.

There's so many interesting things that I've never noticed and never known. Especially the canyons in Cars, they're awesome and I never noticed at all. And the tracking motion model for Toothless was a cat, that's spectacular! I would have never guessed in a million years.
