4 Reasons Why You Should Save Some Space for Your Dog in the Bedroom

It was found through a survey that 55% of pet owners share their bed with at least one dog. Thankfully, many studies have been done researching this matter. Besides making us feel cozy and safe, our furry friends can actually bring some additional benefits to our general health.
The Bright Side team did some digging (pun intended) and would like to share our findings with our readers.
1. Dogs can help us relax and relieve stress.
A lot of us have difficulty falling asleep due to feeling overwhelmed or stressed out just from our daily lives and jobs. Good news, though — it was found that interacting with dogs can reduce the levels of cortisol, a hormone that contributes to stress, and increase the levels of oxytocin, a chemical that affects the feeling of relaxation. So if you’re feeling stressed, cuddling up your pet can help.
2. They might lower our blood pressure.
If you suffer from hypertension, sleeping with your dog can be especially beneficial. A study concluded that owning a pet actually corresponds with having lower blood pressure levels, so consider taking advantage of that and keeping your doggy next to you while you sleep.
3. They may reduce the risk of allergies.
Even though getting a pet is probably the last thing on your mind when you have a baby on the way, children can also benefit from sleeping with dogs. Studies show the more cats or dogs infants live with when they’re younger, the lower the chances are of having them develop allergies and things like asthma or eczema.
4. They may also help us get better sleep.

If you prefer to not let your puppy jump in bed with you, simply letting it rest in your bedroom is fine too. Studies show that owners who sleep with their dog in their room got good sleep as well.
How often do you cuddle with your dog? What other benefits would you add to this list?
