“Ghost” Is Going to Be Remade With Channing Tatum as the Lead and It Has People Divided Into 2 Camps
Many people believed that Ghost would only appeal to a specific audience. But the blend of romance, thriller, ghost story, and comedy genres in a single film proved to be a recipe for success when it hit theaters 32 years ago. Get ready to start spinning your pottery wheels, as a remake of “Ghost” is reportedly in the works.
Channing Tatum is planning to star in the remake.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Tatum stated that he has plans to remake the film, with the potential of casting himself in the lead role. In the original 1990 film, Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore portrayed a couple navigating the afterlife and spirit world after one of them passed away. Tatum is a potential candidate to play Swayze’s role in the upcoming remake, but the role of Molly has yet to be announced.
They have the rights to remake the movie.
Channing announced that his production company, Free Association, acquired the rights to the classic 1990 romance movie from Paramount Pictures.
There will be some changes.
After mentioning that he will be taking on the role originally played by Swayze, the actor hinted at revising the original film’s script, as it included some offensive stereotypes. Channing said, “We’re going to do something different, I think it needs to change a little bit.”
People divided into 2 camps.
Not many people are pleased with the news of the remake. Every year, many original films are produced, but only a small number achieve widespread release and success through positive word-of-mouth. The majority go unseen. People expressed their concerns.
- I bet they will pair him with Sandra Bullock again.

- To be fair, I think 2022 was the best year for original movies since at least 2019, so many awesome original films dropped last year. If the industry keeps up that pace, I’m fine with them remaking movies as long as the original content keeps on coming.

- Stop remaking everything! Come up with new ideas!

- Fully convinced all new ideas are gone. Everything on the release calendar this year is a remake, reboot, or sequel.

- Do not remake what is already perfect.

I'm interested in seeing the new Wonka, just to see what they've done to it. I have no expectations on the quality of the content at all. I can hope it's an interesting take on the story but won't know until we see it. I don't look forward to many reboots. There's been a few that are enjoyable, but it's a rarity.
