“I Have to Waddle Off Stage” Adele Reveals She’s Suffering From a Chronic Condition That’s Turned Her Life Into a Struggle
Despite being one of the biggest and most followed music icons of our time, Adele loves to keep her personal life mostly private. And even though it may seem like she has an ideal life which many people might admire, her reality is actually far away from the glamour we think it is. In fact, just recently, the 34-year-old opened up about a health struggle that leaves her in a lot of pain despite having to bravely stand for hours and perform in front of millions in her sold-out shows.
She struggled on stage.
During her Las Vegas show on New Year’s Eve, the singer revealed a detail about her life that left many of her fans in shock. In fact, as she was distributing T-shirts to the crowd, the singer struggled to move easily, and she was heard saying, ’’I’ve just got to get over to the other side of the stage.’’ She added, ’’I have to waddle these days because I have really bad sciatica.’’
She’s been in pain since she was 15.
Adele’s back problems started when she was a teenager. In fact, she once revealed, ’’I’ve been in pain with my back for, like, half of my life, really.’’ Speaking more on how her condition started, the singer explained, ’’I slipped my first disc when I was 15 from sneezing. I was in bed, and I sneezed, and my fifth one flew out.’’ She added, ’’In January, I slipped my sixth one, my L6.’’
She then went on to admit that having a C-section with her son Angelo, who is 9 now, made her problems even worse. She noted, ’’my core was useless.’’
Losing weight helped her feel stronger.
Talking about the pain she was in before going through her body transformation, Adele admitted, ’’I’m definitely really happy now.’’ She went on explaining, ’’I’m more agile because I can now move more, because of my back. I got my core strong...’’
The songstress revealed that strengthening her muscles made it easier for her to handle the pain she usually goes through. She noted ’’where I got my tummy strong, down at the bottom, which I never had before, my back doesn’t play up as much. It means I can do more, I can run around with my kid a little bit more.’’
We hope that Adele’s pain lessens with time and that we continue to see her rocking on stage in magical performances.
